Chapter 24

There was a silence in the room for a brief moment after I said that Loki wanted me, Steve broke the tension and spoke again.

"Did he say why?" he asked

"Ya, what would he want with you?" Tony asked, everyone glared at him

"What?" he asked confused

"You aren't helping" Clint replied

"Go on" Bruce said

"He uh, he said he wanted me because he... err he needed a... queen..." I say looking at the ground everyone was silent for a moment before Tony snorted out a laugh and Natasha elbowed him in the ribs

"Ow!" Tony cried out

"Shut up or I'll do a lot worse, Stark" Natasha said in a dangerous tone

"Is that a threat or a promise" Tony said winking playfully at Natasha she raised her fist and took one step closer to him and he was already cowering behind his arms

"Ok, Ok! I'll stop" he yelled out so Natasha wouldn't hit him, she lowered her fist

"Geeze" he said distressed

"You said he wanted you to be his Queen, did he elaborate on that?" Bruce asked

"Well he said that every great King should have a Queen ruling by his side or something along those lines" I reply

"What did you say back to him?" Natasha asked

"I didn't say anything, my heart started racing and my breathing became shallow until I heard these incessant voices in my head battling with each other and eventually it became too much. I was overwhelmed and that's when I started losing control of everything until I was completely taken over by this darkness."

"I fear that Loki may have a terrible plan concocted and he may need Myra to complete it" Thor said

I started getting nervous, and my pulse quickened, Bruce grabbed my hand trying to calm me down.

"Well he'll have to get through me first" Bruce said, I gave him a small smile before Natasha spoke

"No, Bruce that's exactly what he wants, his plan is to unleash the Hulk and turn us against each other"

I gave Bruce's hand a slight squeeze to reassure him that everything would be ok, he looked at me and gave me a sad look before the door opened and Bruce let go of my hand.

"What are you doing Mr. Stark?" Fury said walking in

"Uh, kind of been wondering the same thing about you" Tony replied

"You're supposed to be locating the Tesseract" Fury said

"We are, the models locked and we're tracking the signature now. When we get a hit we'll have a location within half a mile" Bruce said pointing to the computer at the back of the room

"Ya, and then we get the cube back no muss, no fuss." Tony said, he stepped back from the circle and went over to a futuristic computer monitor.

"What is Phase 2?"

"Phase 2 is SHIELD uses the cube to make weapons" Steve said pointing to a weapon on the table that he must've placed behind him when they were asking me questions

"Rogers, we gathered everything related to the Tesseract, this does not mean -"

"I'm sorry Nick, what were you saying?" Tony interrupted showing everyone the computer screen with a blueprint of a weapon SHIELD created to use with the Tesseract.
