Chapter 29

I woke up from my short nap by the sound of Loki's voice, he was speaking with someone in a hostile tone I pretended to still be sleeping so I could listen in.

"I told you, the plan is delayed. It will commence when I say it will. We aren't ready for an attack yet, there has been a slight set back."

Who was he talking to?

"The Chitauri grow restless" a hoarse voice says

"Let them go at themselves. I will lead them into glorious battle." Loki replied

"Battle? Against the meager might of Earth?" I was still questioning who this rough voice belonged to.

I figured Loki was distracted enough and wouldn't see me open my eyes. I slowly opened one eye to see if I could catch a glimpse of who he was talking to, instead I was greeted with a dark barren, rocky piece of land. I opened both of my eyes to see that not only was I in a barren rocky place, but I was not in fact a piece of land, I looked around to see that there was a galaxy around us. We couldn't be in space could we? No that was impossible, I wouldn't be able to breathe then. As far as I could tell I was still breathing, I turned my head to see a set of stairs leading up to another floating piece of rock. What was up there? When I turned my head the other way I saw Loki dressed in full armor wearing a horned helmet. Where did that come from? I walked towards where Loki was standing until I saw who or rather what Loki was speaking to.

"Glorious, not lengthy. If your force is as formidable as you claim." Loki said

"You question us? You question HIM? He, who put the scepter in your hand, who gave you ancient knowledge and new purpose when you were cast out, defeated?"

The speaker was slightly hunched over and had a cage-like mask and hood covering his face. He or it looked old and disheveled, it definitely wasn't human. I was brought back from my thoughts at the sound of Loki yelling.

"I was a king! The rightful king of Asgard! Betrayed!"

"Your ambition is little, born of childish need. We look beyond the Earth to greater worlds the Tesseract will unveil."

"You don't have the Tesseract yet."

Suddenly within a few mere seconds the person or thing whatever it was, was right up in Loki's face ready to attack, he only hesitated when Loki pointed his scepter. Then Loki spoke again.

"I don't threaten, but until I open the doors, until your force is mine to command, you are but words."

The person backed off with a huff and looked at me, I could've sworn he looked right through me and saw every bit of my soul, every inch of my being. Grinning evilly before speaking again.

"You've fallen for a mortal"

Loki shifted noticeably uncomfortably

"I have done no such thing" he said trying to make his voice sound powerful.

"Yes, you have, she distracts you from your true plan of attack. You've grown weak in spending time with her."

"I am not weak." Loki said pronouncing every syllable.

"She is not a mere mortal though, she has abilities, untouched powers that not even she is aware of"

In that moment my heart stopped. What does he mean I have powers I'm not aware of? I'm already a freak of nature, what more could I possibly do?

"I am aware she has great potential" Loki said bringing me out of my daze

"With such strong destructive powers, she would make an excellent ally or possibly even a warrior for HIM"
