“I just don’t understand you sometimes, Anna,” Seven spoke as he broke the silence that was draped over us the whole ride home.

I glanced over at him and smiled. “You don’t have to understand me, Seven.” I stated as he pulled into my paved driveway. The second his car came to a stop at my garage door, I unbuckled and grabbed my denim shoulder bag that was on the floor board. Putting it on, I adjusted it.

"Have dinner with me, before Sunday.”

 “What happens this Sunday?”

“Leaven comes home,” Seen said as he turned off the car. Pulling the keys out of the ignition he allowed me to think for a minute.

“So … that is the date when Leaven will disappear … forever.”

 “Yes.”

 “Seven-“

“Please have dinner with me,” Seven urged as he latched onto my arm. His eyes held eagerness and determination.

Sighing, I gave him an unsure look. My mind was screaming for me to tell him ‘no’. So, when my mouth opened I was certain that that was what I was going to say. But my heart and mind were thinking two different things, “okay.”

“I will pick you up next Saturday, sixty-thirty,” he informed me as his warm hand slipped off mine. “Thank you Anna,” he whispered.

“For what?” I quizzed as I looked intently at him.

“For being in my life,” he spoke in a soft tone of voice.

I stared at him, for a good long second as my mind tried to take in every bit of him. “Promise me you won’t go fly on a plane and murder Leaven until after Saturday,” I said.

Seven blinked a few times before nodding. “I can promise you that.”

“Is Saturday all I have?” I inquired as I started to wring my hands nervously.

“What do you mean?” He asked with a quizzical look on his face.

“I know after Saturday your brother will be dead and you will most definitely be behind bars. My question is if Saturday is all I have to be with you? Can I not see and be with you sooner?” I almost pleaded.

Seven’s face fell expressionless as he gazed at me with a blank look. A minute passed before an undersized smile, that didn’t reach his eyes, became planted on his face. “Wear something nice for Saturday,” was all he said.

I looked away from Seven as tears escaped my eyes. “How come she gets a week and I only get a night,” I muttered just loud enough for him to hear and detect the sadness laced in my voice. “Just forget it,” I said as I tried to flee Seven’s car, only to have him lock me in.

“Anna, stop crying,” he said as his index finger caught my chin and forced me to look at him. “The week is not for Jenny...” he said with sincerity seeping into each of his words.

“Then what is it for? If not for me and not for Jenny, what is this week dedicated too?” I asked.

Dropping his hand, Seven unlocked the car. “I need time to think.”

 “About what?”

With his lips pressed together into a thin line, I knew he wasn’t going to reply to me. I watched him open his door and get out of the car. I raised an eyebrow as he walked over to my side of the car. Opening my door, he walked away and went towards the trunk. I exhaled rather loudly as I got out of the car. “Why won’t you tell me?” I questioned as he walked past me with my luggage in hand.

With long strides, Seven walked over to my porch and rested the bag by the front door. He was slowly, but surely, pissing me off.

“Seven!” I called out to him as I marched over to the porch. “Why can’t you tell me?!” I angry snapped.

“There are some things that you just can’t know, Anna,” he calmly replied.

I got even angrier for the simple fact that he was so calm. I wanted him mad, I needed him to feel the same way I felt. “You’re a frog head!” I blurted out without even considering my silly words.

Cracking a smile, Seven went down the steps towards me. “I think for once in my life I can handle being a frog head.”

“This is not funny, Seven,” I wept. “I am going to lose you and all I get is a puny day!”

“Maybe that is for the best,” he honestly replied. “If I gave you a week, it would only make you miss me more…

“Why would you say something like that? No matter the length of time you give me with you, I will miss you just the same.”

“Then, maybe we shouldn’t do Saturday. Give you a head start on forgetting me.”

“I will never forget you Seven.”

Looking at me with his green eyes, Seven’s lips twitched down into a frown. “You are going to have to Anna.”

“You better be here on Saturday, Seven.”

His eyes said it all. He was debating on if it would be wise to come here.

 “Please,” I begged.

Walking over to me, Seven wrapped his hands around my waist. The way he did so seemed as if his action was just a normal everyday thing, but I knew better.

Breaking my thoughts Seven kissed me. It was one simple, long, kiss but it held so much passion that I couldn’t describe. My whole body leaned into him as I felt his lips slowly separating from mine.

“You have your Saturday, Anna.” He informed me before backing away. “I know you love me Anna, so just please, trust me...”

I couldn’t speak as I gave a small nod.
