Ok guys,
This chapter will be kind of emotional but don't worry, I'll balance that in the next chapter. And there will be a bit of Connor's POV, I don't like changing POV's but I have to. So enjoy.

Chapter Nine

We got of the car, the boys inquired that they will set up the tents. There was a lake on and on the other side of the lake were trees. I don't get it why do they call it the 'downtown'?

So they were setting up the tents when my aunt called. I took out the little translator I used to keep with me, it was a earphone kind of thing which I attached with the phone and they somehow used to translate it to me.

So I excused myself and going to the trees area, I picked up the phone and wore the earphone translator thing.

"Hey its Mia, is this lily?" my aunt's voice said on the other side.

"Yeah" I said, I knew what she was gonna ask next.

"Is Joel around you?"

"Nope" I knew it she would ask me.

"Is he Ok? Did he eat anything?" my aunt asked, her voice concerned.

I knew it hurt a lot when she used to call me and ask about Jo but not me, but I had learned to ignore it and suppress the sadness of it. I was turning numb day by day.

"Ya he is fine and has had food."

"Oh Ok, and lily today is your mom's birthday according to the Hindu calender, so tell your brother that, you know he cries a lot for her now and then. Unlike you who never cried." she said.

Ya I never cried, I never cried in front of them because I didn't want to seem weak. I wanted to be with them strong enough to support them. And today was my mom's birthday, I wanted to wish her and give her a card like every year.

"Ok I'll let him know" I said my voice was on the verge of breaking, tears threatening to come out of my eyes.

"Very well, and I wanted to let you know this earlier but I didn't. Joel knows about it. My boyfriend will be coming home today. I so wanted you to meet him, Jo has met him so that's Ok." she said.

"You have a boyfriend, you never told me? What is wrong with you Mia? Don't you think its necessary for me to know?" I shouted.

"Listen lily it was not my fault, you didn't stay home half of the time..."

"What do you mean? I was not home ok, I get it but you could have told me." I said cutting her off, and before she could reply I closed the phone.

The feelings inside me were overwhelming, I wanted a hug. I walked towards the tents and saw Connor talking to Chris.

Connor's POV

I was talking to Chris about some of his football problems. He had a lot of problems because he was the captain and he used to tell them to me thinking I could do something about it.

I saw lily walking towards us, her expression was blank, but her eyes were a different story. They looked sad.

She came to me mumbled something and took me away from Chris, Chris looked at me as if I had betrayed him.

I looked at lily, "Lil what's wrong?" I asked her.

She didn't say anything but hugged me, I hesitantly hugged her back, what was wrong with her? Why had she suddenly come and hugged me? She stayed there, hugging me for about ten minutes before letting go. And then after like composing herself she smiled.

"Nothings wrong, I just thought you should go and tell Chris about yourself" she said not looking at me directly.

"But Lil now? Why?"

"He should know about it, you know he won't be angry I'm sure about it." She told me still not looking at me.

"Fine!" I said and went slowly towards Chris. And lily went away. That betrayer!

"What's up bro?" Chris said looking at me coolly.

"Um I gotta...um tell you something..." I said looking down and moving nervously.

"Ya say"

"Um you know, I am not quite you know...attracted to girls in that way..."

"What do you mean?" Chris said sounding worried.

"Um Philip, he is my...um...boyfriend.." I said still not meeting his eyes.

"You are gay?" he asks me.

I nodded.

"And lily knew about it before me?" he said.

"Listen I was just..."

"No need to say anything" Chris said and stormed off.

Shit. What? Had I said something wrong?

I guess I should just go and talk to lily, and tell her what happened.

I walked towards the woods to find her. She was sitting on the wooden plank near the lake.

Lily's POV

I walked away from Connor after I convinced him to talk to Chris about him being gay. I hope everything goes well.

I went to my brother who was sitting with Katie and talking. I went in front of him and crossed my arms in front of me. I looked at Katie, ya I could say it in front of her, she knew everything.

"Jo, Mia called, she asked me if you were Ok and if you ate....and she told me to tell you that today is mom's birthday according to the Hindu calendar, she told you to do whatever you do every year. She said that you were always upset because of mom's death, unlike me so yeah." I let out a huge breath I didn't know I was holding.

"Its not like you weren't sad Lil" Jo said getting up. I backed away from him coldly.

"And she told me that you had met her boyfriend whom I didn't even know about. I thought you promised to tell me everything!" I said my voice rising.

"Listen Lil I'm sorry, I didn't have time to tell you, you were never at home!" Jo said.

"Excuses excuses both you and Mia said the same thing." I said and walked away towards the lake.

I had always been the neglected one, my parents used to neglect me since my brother was born. I did not do well in studies because of that. But I always took it that my brother was just more of the loved one and I was the boring one who was always inside books and the internet. Although I seemed to be preoccupied in books and internet, I couldn't help but notice them neglect me. I would sit in the same room as them three but would fell absolutely lonely.

I sat down on the wooden plank beside the lake. I always made cards and did other stuff to show my parents I cared. But they always took it for granted. And my brother's little stuff would always impress them. My eyes were filled with tears and I stared at the water. Few tears escaped my eyes.

I heard footsteps coming towards me, I wiped my face, plastered a smile and looked back to see who was coming. Connor was coming towards me looking a bit sad and confused.
