"Hello." I chirped picking up the phone.

No answer.

"Hello?" I said again.

No answer. Weird.

Then I heard some shuffling in the background, and then I heard Connor's voice, "Give it back, dude."

"Hello lily? How are you?" Connor babbled on the line.

"I'm fine. Why weren't you answering earlier? Or was it someone else?" I asked.

"No...it was um Philip."

"Philip? Isn't he out of town?"

"Um not he returned."

Returned? But as much as I remembered he was not suppose to return till next week. But I let it drop.

"Okay." I said.

Connor and I talked about my trip. I told him how it was going and what all I would be doing. Then I hung up and caught up with the couple - which was meant to be.

We walked around the different blocks, looking at different pandals. But the best part was eating all the street food after months. The puchkas, bhel, paprika chat and other stuff seriously made me realize how much I had missed Indian food.

There were a lot of people, the place was really humid. On top of that all, we had to wait in line for one hour or so for each pandal the whole time during which I whined and complained.

But when we actually got to see the pandal, I realized it was worth the wait. The designs of the pandals were done so perfectly and intricately that I was astound. The different colours of the panda seemed to brighten up the place.

While Vidyut and Meg seemed to see only the idols and move on, I was taking in every little detail from the pandal. I didn't pay heed to the idol, the pandal was more beautiful, the carvings on mud were beautiful.

We went from pandal to pandal till 9 o' clock and then went to eat in Mainland China.

-------

Meg got up and went to the washroom, I looked at Vidyut and smiled awkwardly. Now what was I supposed to do?

"So I wanna ask you about Meghna." Vidyut stuttered, his cheeks flushed red while he shifted on his chair. Then looking at me he stumbled through his words, "Vo mujhe sachi pasand karti hai na?" (She really likes me, right?)

"Yes she does. Though I'm not allowed to tell you that. Do you?"
"Um yes I do. But I don't know how to tell her." Vidyut said smiling shyly.

"Just tell her normally, casually, not too fancy." I shrugged and said.

"Okay. I hope it'll help."

We both started talking more and more. We became comfortable with each other, and I got to know a lot about him. He also apologized for the comment he made earlier today. Then Meg came out of the washroom, and giving us weird looks she sat down.

"I need to make a call okay? Don't run away or anytging." I got up and glared at Vidyut. Hopefully he understood what to do.

I stepped out of the restaurant and dialed Chris' number, I needed to talk to him. The line went to voicemail and I hoped he did not do it on purpose.

I went back in cursing to myself. I shot Vidyut a questioning glance. He smirked and nodded. I smiled back and gave him a thumbs up.

Later Meg and I took a taxi back home, the whole way Meg was ranting about how happy she was that Vidyut finally asked her out.

The whole week I spent going to our old hangout spots, meeting my ex batchmates and basically moving around the city. One day Meg and I went shopping for Indian dresses and gowns for Mia's wedding.

On the last day Meg made a cake, which we ruined by playing cake fight. Then I boarded the plane to Münich.

------

I stepped out of the airport and looked around for a cab or something. I shivered as a gush of wind passed through me, I felt colder after coming from India.

"Lily!" I heard Ariana's voice behind me.

I turned around to see Ariana, Connor and Joel smiling at me.

I immediately embraced them one by one, feelings tears on my eyes which i knew wouldnt flow out. After I puller away from Jo I looked around for someone specific. I guess it pained to see that someone wasn't there.

"Who are you looking for?" Ariana asked.

"No one." I smiled. "I didn't expect you guys to be here."

"Why not?" Jo asked.

"I have learned not to expect much. Rather the hard way though."

They nodded. I looked at Connor, he was staring at me silently. His face showed that he was analizing something. I tried to ignore it, but his gaze was fixed on me and I couldn't help but notice it. What was wrong?

"Lily, I told Mia you would be coming at night. So now you can go to Connor's house and have fun or something." Jo said.

I smiled. "Thanks Jo. I love you."

"Love you too. Bye."

"Bye."

Jo walked off. I sat in the passenger seat of Connor's Mercedes while Ariana sat at the back.

Even during the car ride Connor kept giving me side glances.

"What?" I finally asked him.

"Huh? Nothing." Connor said glancing at me again.

"Really? Why are you staring at me then?"

"No nothing." Connor said and glanced away.

I nodded and watched the passing scenery. Finally Connor pulled up in front of his mansion.

We walked to the door while Connor tried to avoid my eyes but soon gave up and started teasing me about the trips events which I had described to him over the phone.
