Chapter Thirty One
"Lily? Open the door. Are you in there?" I heard meg shout and bang the door of my room.
My head was pounding and spinning with the events of yesterday. I didn't want to leave my bed.
"Go away!" I shouted at Meg.
"Why what's wrong? Please Lil open the door." Meg said.
I just fell back down on my bed and buried my head in my pillows, trying to sleep again so I don't feel anything. Why do we have feelings? Feelings is a bad thing. It destroys us. No wonder robots are better off.
After some time the pounding stopped. Of the door not my head or heart. My head was still aching because of the drinks I had yesterday.
My heart, nothing to say about that. It felt like they were shredding to pieces. Like someone from hell had come and stabbed it thousands of times.
I got up to change. I looked at myself in the mirror, I looked pathetic and the fact that I didn't change last night didn't help.
I got into the shower and my warm tears mixed with the cold water and drowned me into sorrow.
I got out wearing pajamas and some random top. I went down to the hall. Mia was sitting there, and Meg and Jo weren't seen anywhere in the house. Where had they gone?
I went inside the kitchen and made myself coffee. I came back out and looked at Mia.
"Where's Alex?" I asked her.
She didn't say anything. Ya I had forgotten that she didn't know English.
Then I went up and sat down on my bed sipping coffee. I checked my phone for some messages. Actually I was checking my phone for messages from him.
No. None. Nada.
I flipped my phone on my bed and closed my eyes. Suddenly my door flung open and I saw Connor standing in the doorway. I got up and stared at him. He looked upset.
"Lily come with me now." Connor said urgently.
"What's wrong?" I said.
"Nothing get out of bed. We're going for a walk."
"Um I don't want to go anywhere."
"C'mon now or we'll kidnap you." Said Ariana's voice as she entered the room behind Connor.
"Please guys I don't wanna go. Can't you just leave me alone?" I said.
"No now come." Connor said pulling me up.
I got up and went into the washroom. I wore sweatpants and a black tank top and went out of the house. Meg and Jo still weren't there. I messaged Jo.
Me: Where are you and Meg?
He replied a few seconds later.
Jo: At the airport.
Me: why?
Jo: Her visa somehow expired she has to go back.
I was even more sad after reading that text. I walked along with both my besties, though I didn't say a word.
"Lil are you sad?" Connor asked.
I shook my head and smiled at him to prove it.
"Lil tell us what's wrong?" Ariana asked.
"Ar I told you what happened last night didn't I?" Connor said looking at her.
Of course Connor knew what had happened. No wonder he was here.
I sighed sadly and kept on walking. The air suddenly had a chill and I felt unnaturally cold.
"Oh ya sorry. Lily please don't be sad." Ariana said.
"Lily this was not your mistake, nor was it Chris' but please don't be sad." Connor said.
Why did they have to remind me? Couldn't they just leave me alone?
"Lily please say something. Don't be sad." Ariana said rubbing my back.
"I'm not sad don't you understand?" I snap.
They didn't say anything and kept on moving. Subsequently I realized that we had come to the park where I used to come.
I slowly moved to my spot and sat down. Those two sat down beside me. We all were silent for some time.
"Listen lily, talk to Chris right now." Connor said.
I didn't say anything but noticed both of them get up. I looked up to see them talking to the guy I had kissed the other day, Chris. My eyes widened they had brought me here so that I would talk to him? Seriously?
I got up and turned around to leave when someone's hand gripped mine. I looked back to see Connor holding my hand.
"You won't go until you talk." He said.
Chris came towards me as both my best friends backed up. I didn't say anything but stood still not daring to look up.
"Lily I'm really sorry for what happened yesterday." Chris said.
"Ya I know you are very sorry" I said.
"Don't interrupt me. Lily I don't want to add to your sorrow that's why I just want us to be friends." Chris said. "This is the first time I've met a girl like you. I'm really sorry for what happened in your past and I'm sorry for walking away yesterday."
"I don't need your sympathy, I don't need anybody's sympathy. Just leave me alone, I'm better off alone" I said coldly struggling to hide my feelings.
"Listen lily there was a reason why I went away that day. I'm sorry." Chris said.
I walked away from him. That's it. I couldn't take it anymore. I wouldn't let him hurt again because I knew I liked him. I really really liked him.
I sauntered through the unknown streets of the towns square. I looked around the shops. There were branded shops and also shops with second handed clothes.
Some shop windows were brightly litted and some were closed. Some were decorated ones and some were not. People were all over the place talking and chatting there way through the crowd. If I was not sad I would have actually enjoyed the atmosphere, but my demons didn't let that happen, they had surrounded me not letting me admire the beauty and happiness. All I could see were the sad things.
There was a boy crying in the street because he had dropped his ice cream. There were two girls fighting over a dress. And a lot more happening on all sides.
I looked around more and saw a little shop in a garage.
I went closer to look what it sold. It was a shoo which sold materials needed for art. Everything. I entered it quietly and looked around.
