It was just another day, normal one. Alex was off to his office and so was Mia. Joel had gone out with his new girlfriend Sia. And I as usual was sitting on the couch eating ice cream and watching Netflix.

Good points of bring here, I have Netflix. and second good point, I have ice cream. Third good point, no one was here to disturb me because my phone was dead and I was too lazy to get up and put it in charge.

So here I was wrapped up in blankets, sprawled on the couch watching the new season of How I met your mother, when my doorbell rang.

"Open." I shouted, too lazy to get up.

The door flung open to reveal the tall figure of Chris. I sat up on seeing him. I've never seen him like this, and it scared me. A lot.

"Oh my god Lily, you're okay?" Chris said coming in front of me.

I stared at him with a blank expression. I didn't know what to say, or maybe I was too scared to. His hair was messy and his forehead was drenched with sweat. His eyes held fear and he looked like he had been running.

"Oh thank god you're fine. I was so worried." Chris said again, pulling me into a tight hug. "Why was your phone switched off?"

"I-It's phone was switched off?" I said, okay so this was confusing and scary. This whole situation was crazy.

"Don't ever do this to me again." Chris whispered kissing my forehead and pulling me back into a hug.

I pulled back instantly, even more confused. What did I do? Why was he worried? Okay this was freaking me out.

"What the hell Chris? What's wrong? You're freaking the shit out of me now. You first come in looking like you've been running from cops, then ask me if I'm fine. Like what on earth could hurt me now?" I rambled in utter confusion and fear.

"I'm happy you're fine." Chris said examining my face and hands he didn't seem to take in what I had said, "you're not hurt are you? Did someone come for you?"

"No. No one came Chris. Calm down. I'm fine and you're scaring me. Sit." I said that pulling him down on the couch.

Chris stared at me, his eyes held mine. It showed constant fear of losing me. He looked fazed, tired and scared.

"Coffee?" I asked hoping it would calm him down. He nodded slightly and got up and headed to the washroom.

I made us two cups and brought it to the living room. I sat down waiting for Chris, questions flooding my mind.

As Chris came I handed him the coffee and he sat down with a small smile. I took in a deep breath.

Chris sat down casually as if nothing had happened and asked, "Wanna watch a movie or something?"

I arched my eyebrow at him, "Seriously? That's what you have to say Chris? After all that? Would you not care to explain your actions?" I snapped.

"Can't we just watch a movie and relax?" Chris pleaded looking g at me.

"No." I deadpanned.

"You really want to know?" Chris asked brushing his hands through his hair.

I nodded as he shifted uncomfortably on the couch.

"Where should I start?" He asked.

"From the beginning." I replied flatly.

Chris nodded and started, "If that's what you want then okay. Brace yourself, babe."

I shifted on my side, okay this didn't sound good. I took in a deep breath and listen carefully as he started.

"So around 9 years back, Mr Hudson Fauxgurd was a suspect of a deadly crime, but then in reality he was innocent. Strong charges were pressed against him, and he turned to my dad for help as they were old acquaintances. Dad used to visit him in the jail and work on the case. So when the day of trial arrived, the case was fought and we won the case. After that fateful day my dad and Mr Hudson slowly drifted apart. And next thing we know is that in five years time, Mr Fauxgurd became a great business tycoon. Little did we know that the money was black and the business was fake. Hudson turned into Satan incarnate himself. Three months ago his cover blew up and his deeds were revealed to the world. Just like nine years ago, he again turned to my dad for help. My dad being the honourable lawyer he is, declined his request. He couldn't find any lawyer to help him and he was imprisoned. His followers started threatening dad to fight his case, they stated that if my father didn't fight the case, they would cause harm to his near and dear ones. In the beginning they wanted to cause harm just to my family, but then dad humiliated them publicly. Next day an email arrived stating that whatever harm they'd cause would revolve around me. I immediately thought of you, and that was the first day I started to avoid you. What I already knew was that I couldn't stay away from you, and you gradually proved it. So we were back to the happy, gay couple who were dating. Then, today when your phone was switched off I started to freak out. I didn't even care to stop for my car keys and came running here... " Chris finished and let out a sharp breath, "To see you watching Netflix."

I stared at him, slowly taking in all he had said. This was crazy. Why hadn't he told me this earlier? Not like I could do anything. But still. I heaved a sigh.

"I don't know how to react to this Chris. I think...is it over?" I said finally.

Chris nodded, "Yes, his trial is today. It'll be over after today."

I bit my lips and brushed my fingers through my hair, "That's good." sighing I said, "Well  its over its good."

I could see Chris' expression morph into a smile as he leaned towards me pulling me into a kiss.

"This is why I love you." Chris whispered.

"Guess what? I love you too." I whispered kissing back.
