Twenty Three

Chapter Twenty Three

I sat down beside Meg. She was here beside me and now I didn't feel as sad as I did earlier.

"Lil tell me what all you guys did in school?" Meg asked.

"Except for learning stupid stuff you mean? Ya we did a lot of stuff..." I told her about the prank of Connor and me, then I told her about the random things we did.

I told her about the parties, the downtown experience cutting out some parts of it. I would fill in those later.

Then Meg and I started telling the others about the things we did.

"So you know we were like the craziest people alive. I remember in middle school I was once texting beneath my desk. And the science teacher came up to me at the end of the period and asked me to keep my phone away for the next period. That's it. She didn't do anything else." I said reviving my class 6 memories. It had been so amazing.

I looked at all of them. They all looked amused except Chris. Chris was looking at me in the sexiest way possible. He had this kind of very hot smirk playing on his lips and his eyes looked greener. I smiled back at him.

Then we started with another story.

"So ya once in grade 8 we stuck a note at the back of our maths teacher. She was this plump woman with a face of a pug. So in the note we wrote 'I'm sexy and I know it' and we were not allowed to disrespect our teachers son we got two periods lecture for doing that." Meg said laughing.

"Didn't you get detention for it?" Connor asked his face held surprise.

I shook my head, "No we don't have a detention system in our school."

"Lucky, man" Connor groaned.

I laughed. My eyes again fell on Chris he was still smirking at me. God he looked so hot. Couldn't I just kiss him already?

Really lily? Really? In the afternoon he made a joke about him liking you and now you are thinking this.

I looked at his tee-shirt. He was wearing a grey colored one which highlighted his features perfectly. His rusty brown hair fell on his forehead perfectly. He was so perfect. It was almost impossible.

"Babe, stop checking me out in front of everyone." Chris commented suddenly.

Heat rose up in my cheeks. I was blushing. Wow lily couldn't come up with a comeback? So like you.

I didn't look at him for quite a while after that and Meg kept hitting me and giving me a 'I know what's going on between the two of you' look. The truth was nothing was going on between both of is. It was just one sided. I hope not. Shit I liked him. No crazy, you are falling for him. Said a voice in my head.

"Happy birthday lily" everyone in the room shouted.

I snapped out of my thoughts and realized that it was midnight. Connor, Ariana and Chris stayed there for about half an hour more and then went away.

Meg and I went to my room and our girls chat began. I told her about Jesse trying to kiss me.

"Oh so was that senior hot?" She asked.

"Are you only concerened about him being hot?"

"No I didn't mean that. Why do you think he did that?"

"I don't know? Wanted to take you to bed?" Meg answered.

"What about Chris?" I asked.

"Oh my god you totally are in love with him."

I rolled my eyes at her. "That's not what I meant, I asked you why he did that?"

"He likes you. God Lil, whats wrong with you? Have you seen the way he looks at you."

Then I told her what he had told me today and Meg fell silent.

"Wow Lil, but you like him that's for sure." Meg said finally.

"No I don't like him. He just helped me a lot."

"You like him."

"Not"

"Yes"

"No"

"Yes"

"No"

"Yes you do, don't lie I know you too well."

I gave up. "Okay fine I like him. Happy?"

"Yes I knew it!" Meg said punching me hard on my arm.

"Oww" I said rubbing my arm.

"He is so hot. Why don't you go ahead and jump on him already?" Meg said jumping up and down on my bed.

I rolled my eyes at her. "Listen Meg, he doesn't like me that way you get it?"

She sighed. "But please try to kiss him once."

"You're crazy. You really are."

"Thanks but it for your own thing."

"I never said yes."

"Oh but you did."

We kept on arguing but at the end she was successful in forcing me to try to kiss him.

I'm not gonna kiss him though. Not until I'm totally sure about it.

"Where's the washroom?" Meg asked.

I pointed it out to her and she got up and went away. I looked around my room to find something interesting, my eyes fell on Meg's cell.

I picked it up and went through her contacts. Just as I was about to close it I read a name, Vidyut Bamalwa. Hmm...Meg never told anything to me about him.

Meg came out of the bathroom and her eyes widened as I held up her phone with his contact on display.

"Lily you know its bad manners to check someone's phone without asking." She said slowly coming towards the bed.

"Not of you are that persons best friend. Now tell me about him." I said.

She sat down and started, "Um mm..I met this guy in my tuitions."

"Ya and you guys talk. Got that point. How does he look?" I asked her.

"He is really good looking and talks in an adorable way. When he talks about cars his eyes start twinkling and he looks hotter." She said blushing.

She liked him. I knew it. She would not be blushing otherwise.

"You like him." I stated the obvious.

She shook her head in denial.

"Yes you do."

"No I don't"

"MEGHNA AGARWAL, you will confess that you like him or don't talk to me. Ever." I shouted at her calling her by her full name.

She looked up in shock. She knew I was serious. I could do what I said, or atleast try to.

"Ok fine ya I like him" she said letting her head drop in defeat.

The next thirty minutes were spent in me giving her tips on how to talk to him. Then we had to sleep because Meg was feeling extremely tired, obviously she had been flying!

I lay on my bed smiling like an idiot at the thought that my best friend was here. She was sleeping in the extra room beside my room. I finally fell asleep, and I remember hoping for a dream not the nightmare.
