*Allison's POV*

I walk out of Harry's room, my head and heart a whirlwind of clashing emotions and thoughts. Nothing makes sense right now and it'd be impossible to try to comprehend the situation, so I decide to focus on one thing at a time and silently make my way to Daniel's room.

When I get there, he's lying down on his bed, face turned up to the ceiling and arms propped behind his head. He doesn't look up when I enter his room, he doesn't even flinch. He's as still as stone. I already have a bad feeling as to where this conversation is going to go, so I walk through the doorframe and close the door behind me. I don't move beyond that.

For a few moments that feel more like a few hours, I stand there, he sits there, and we're both silent. The tension in the air is palpable, tangible, uncomfortable. I finally can't take it anymore and decide to speak.

"Daniel-"

"Allison, before you decide to-"

"No." I cut him off, grinding my teeth together in frustration. "Stop it. Let me talk and you listen." He glances at me, and then his eyes return to the ceiling.

"You're being ridiculous." I start.

"Am I?" He sits up and meets my gaze. "I just find it funny how after all these months, all this long time, with no contact from him whatsoever, and he just shows up, quite literally, on the doorstep out of no where. The man who you loved." He says bitterly and shakes his head.

I walk over to his bed and sit on it, making sure to keep a safe distance between our bodies.

"So...what? This is about your insecurities? This is about Harry being here? Because it doesn't matter, Daniel." He doesn't matter. I can't make myself say those words.

"What do you want me to do? Ignore the fact that he's here? Because that's not going to happen." My eyes flash with anger.

"I want you to trust me."

"I do trust you."

"Obviously not, if you're acting like this!"

"I trust you, Allison. I just don't trust him."

"You don't even know him." He looks at me incredulously,  laughing bitterly.

"What? So now you're defending him? The man who shattered you time and time again and you're just going to let him come back into your life as if nothing's happened?"

I close my eyes and take a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. "I didn't say that. Of course he's not going to just waltz back into my life as if nothing's happened. I'm not going to let that happen again, Daniel." He tears his gaze away from mine.

With a deep breath, I stand up from my spot on his bed and begin walking towards the door.

"I really wish you weren't acting like this." I say softly. "Right now, I have a million different emotions running through me and for once, I wish someone else would be there to hold me and just listen. Someone who could push aside their feelings for a moment and be there for me, as I've done for others."

His eyes fill with a type of sorrow and recognition.

"I'm sorry." He apologizes. I shake my head.
