Love you guys and hope you enjoy:)
*Daniel's POV*
I'm trying. I'm trying really hard not to act like the stereotypical jealous boyfriend but when I tell you it's hard, it's really freaking hard. I mean, how can I not get jealous? This isn't just some random hookup or an ex-boyfriend that's waltzing his way back into Allison's life. This guy was her freaking husband! If I-
"Daniel?"
"Oh, hm?" Carol and Christian are both looking at me expectantly, waiting for me to give my opinion on something I have no clue about. Guess I should've been paying a little more attention.
"Which one do you think will go better?" She holds up two different fabrics. What are those even for?
I sigh in frustration.
"I-I'm sorry. I'm just not-"
"Not all here." Christian finishes. He shrugs. "We get it."
"I do wish Allison was here, though. She's much better at these kinds of things." I nod, unable to come up with a coherent response.
"Is...is everything alright between you two?" Christian's brows furrow.
"I'm gonna go over here. Try to...finish things up." With that, Carol leaves Christian and I alone to talk. As soon as she's out of earshot, Christian turns to me, raising his eyebrows slightly, urging me to go on.
"Honestly...no," I admit. "I just...I can't get the fact that he, of all the damn people in the world, has come back into her life." I shake my head. "And she's just going to let him."
"It doesn't matter that he's back," Christian says, but the words sound forced. And judging by the look on Christian's face, he knows it too. He sighs deeply and sticks his hands in his pockets. "Listen, Allison and Harry have a lot of...history."
"How much history are we talking about, here?" He hesitates. "Chris." I urge him.
"Their entire lives." He finally says. My eyes widen in astonishment. He can't be serious.
He must read this on my face because he nods.
"Their mom's grew up together and were best friends and then when they both became pregnant around the same time..." He trails off but he doesn't need to finish his sentence. I already know more than enough to convince me that all of my suspicions are right.
I scoff. "So I really don't stand a chance." I mutter. "I never did."
"You can't say that. Otherwise, you've already lost." He places his hand on my shoulder. "If you really like her, then show her. Don't think that just because Harry's here that your chances of being with her are over. Because one thing's for damned sure." He looks me straight in the eye. "If you pull back and become distant...she will fall back in love with him. And by then, it'll be too late."
*Harry's POV*
"Alli, where in the hell are we going?" I ask for about the ten-thousandth time.
"You've asked me that ten thousand times." She smiles and glances over at me briefly. "When are you going to learn that I'm not saying a word?"
I groan, leaning my head back on the headrest. "Can't you atleast give me a hint?" She shakes her head, lips pursed and fighting another smile. "Fine!" I sigh in exasperation. "I give up. I'll stop asking."
