Chapter 37 The Pandemonium of Asuka Langley Shikinami, Phase 3: Metamorphosis

She descends into the depths, as she falls she sees a light.

She tries to reach out, she tries to speak, but she can't. She has done something unforgivable, the light becomes dimmer and dimmer.

She continues to fall deeper.

And deeper.

And deeper.

Deeper.

Deeper.

Deeper.

Deeper.

Deeper.

Deeper.

???:"Thank you..."

The voice once again speaks to her, she hasn't heard it for a long time. The voice then continues on by telling her.

???:"Thank you, for destroying yourself. Asuka Langley Shikinami, your body is now mine"

Asuka looks up and sees that the light was fading; it was about to disappear forever.

???:"Your body now belongs to me, Bardiel"

Light is gone, Asuka Langley Shikinami is gone and Bardiel is all that remains.

Asuka:"GAHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Asuka started to scream loudly in pain, Touji was confused why she was screaming, he then saw that her body was twisting, her arms and legs were breaking themselves at will, her fingers dislocating themselves. Her eyes were teaching like crazy, Touji was horrified however he took notice that Kensuke was still breathing.

Without hesitation Touji picks up Kensuke and starts running away from Asuka, then a car stops a few feet away from them, the door opens and Misato steps out.

Misato:"Suzuhara!"

Toji:"Miss Misato, help me Kensuke is injured!"

He shouted loudly, Misato rushed towards the boy and helped Touji with his wounded friend to get him in the car. Misato looks at Asuka seeing that she is too far and with regret in her heart, she leaves with Touji, the injured Kensuke and Kaji drives towards the hospital.

Asuka:"AHHHGHHHH! AHHHHHHH! AAAAAHHHH AHHHHH!"

The twitching stopped as her hair then started to glow and her eyes started to glow neon green.

Meanwhile in the Geofront

The sounds of alarms are heard across Nerv HQ, Sub Commander Fuyutsuki then asks staff.

Fuyutsuki:"What is going on?!"

Aoba:"We are detecting energy readings coming from Tokyo-3!"

Hyuga:"Magi is analysing it as we speak!"

Gendo Ikari is seen thinking since this took him by surprise, then his face turns to one of realization.

Gendo:"Wait, could it be..."

Maya:"It cannot be...!"

Maya says as she sees that the Magi supercomputer has finished its analysis and the answer that it gives sends chills down Maya's spine. Maya then screams out what Magi said.

Maya:"It's Angel... The Ninth Angel still LIVES!"

Back in the surface

The now possessed body of Asuka stops screaming, her hair is glowing neon orange and her eyes glowing green. Bardiel began to look at the new body it acquired, it began to flex its new fingers getting used to this new form.

Now that Bardiel had a new body, it knew what was the next move. To destroy the burning beast and avenge its brethren, from her shoulder she forms long arms that are tall as skyscrapers made from A.T fields, she uses these arms to move long distance to search for its target.

3 hours later

Misato and Kaji are seen sitting in one of the chairs of the Hospital's waiting room. They had a sour expression of what happened to Asuka, Touji then comes out from the room, Misato gets up and asks him.

Misato:"Well?"

Touji:"The Doctor said he will be fine, the knife didn't hit any organs"

Misato sighs in relief knowing that Kensuke will live, she then comes back to her worries. The Ninth Angel now possessing Asuka's body has left and she has a pretty good idea of where it might be going. She pulls out her phone, she dials the number hoping that Shinji is still using the same phone number, she waits.

And waits.

Waits.

Waits.

Waits.

Then she hears that Shinji picked up the phone.

Shinji:"Misato-san?"

With Shinji

Shinji is seen in a dark place as he talks to Misato on the phone.

Misato:"Shinji! Thank god I'm reaching you, listen-"

Shinji:"We can't talk now..."

He says as sweats, his eyes trembling of how nervous he is feeling, besides him Kiana and Bronya are in combat ready position. As they see Fu Hua looking down at them as they stand on her arm.

But is the one in front of them truly Fu Hua?
