36 - surrounded for protection

"Alpha, please wake up."

Woo awoke to the sound of a soft voice calling out for him. Once the alpha awoke, Zaire went to his room to freshen up. He took a quick shower and dressed himself in black sweatpants along with a pink sweater. Zaire left his room to go downstairs but he found Woo at the kitchen entrance with Katana next to him.

"Come." The alpha said while putting a leash on the female dog. "Let's walk her."

Zaire nodded although he felt confused. Normally, Woo would go out to walk Katana in the morning while the omega made breakfast. Still, he didn't protest. The smaller man followed the other man to the main gates. Zaire felt nervous as Woo handed him the leash. "While I'm gone, walk her in the mornings."

They left the main gates and all Zaire saw was a wide path in front of him, stretching for miles. The sides of the path were lined with neat trimmed bushes filled with gorgeous flowers. Everything else within miles was just open land, filled with trimmed grass and short trees.

"I own the property around the mansion. No one will cross paths with you when you walk her." Woo said as they continued to walk. Zaire walked slowly and Katana matched his pace, staying next to him obediently. "Your bodyguards will be by your side anytime you set foot out of the house."

Zaire nodded and let Katana sniff at the flowers. The cane corso walked next to him patiently, waiting for him to lead. Twenty minutes later, they walked back to the mansion. The omega prepared breakfast as Woo sat in the living room. The alpha patted Katana as she laid her head on his thigh. Woo looked at the female dog and her icy blue eyes stared back.

"Protect him while I'm gone." The alpha ordered and Katana barked twice, making the wolf smirk. "Good girl."

Woo sat in the living room as Katana dozed off again. About twenty minutes later, Zaire's soft voice called out his name. The dining room was silent as the two had breakfast. The omega felt weird today, his anxiety high at the thought of Woo not being here but he was also afraid of him. Zaire couldn't understand it all.

After breakfast, the younger man packed the wolf's lunch as Woo grabbed his duffel bag. He slung it across his broad back and placed a snapback on his head. Woo went to the garage entrance as Zaire and Katana followed. The omega handed the older man his lunch bag and water bottle with shaky hands.

"I sent you Uncle Minsu's number. Anytime you need to go out, text him." The alpha said and Zaire nodded.

Woo patted Katana's head and turned to leave. As Woo's truck pulled out of the garage, he saw two familiar black vehicles pull in. When the alpha left, Zaire saw Tara and Vedant. The bodyguards got out and walked towards him. Zaire felt out of place as they bowed to him.

"Good morning, Zaire." The two greeted him with warm smiles.

"G-Good morning." The omega said shyly.

"We will guard the mansion while you're home, please call us if you need any assistance." Vedant said and the omega nodded.

As the bodyguards left to scale the mansion property, Zaire went back to tidy the kitchen. After cleaning and preparing a chicken marinade for the afternoon, the omega went upstairs. He climbed back into bed with Katana next to him. He pulled out his phone to see a text from Woo, including Minsu's number. Suddenly, his phone began to ring and Dr. Amina's name appeared on the screen. He picked up the call with shaky hands.

'Hello, Zaire. How are you?"

'H-Hi. I'm okay. How about you?'

'I'm doing great, dear. I wanted to call you to discuss your blood test results. Shall we start?'
