~Adrian~
"Where the hell is she ?"
"Sir... I don't know... She left after half an hour you had left..."
"Did she say where she was going ? Anything when will she be back ? Did she take Sebastian with her?"
"No to all I am afraid... She called for a cab... When I asked her to ask the driver to drop her wherever she wanted to go... She simply said she doesn't want to use anything that belongs to you..."
This made me pause. That woman would give me another heart attack. She had been missing for more than two hours. Not picking up my calls, or anyone's at the least. It had been raining buckets outside. The weather had changed drastically and there was no sign of her.
Rina was worried and kept on giving me neutral answers and a glare after each response. I mean come on seriously, its not my fault she left to God knows where.
"Adrian... If I may ask... I have been working with you since the past 10 years. I know you like to be closed of child. And that you and your wife have a complicated situation... Believe me I know its none of my business... But son... You should atleast let her in... If you would just listen to her once... You will realize what a rare jewel she is..."
Staying quite I gave her a nod. A bit angry at how much she was trusting this girl and more than that where was she.
A clenching feeling was building in my gut. I have to find her. She may be hurt or lost. My parents including Rina would kill me if I didn't find her.
Another hour passed and still there was no sign of her. Where could she possibly go off to.
Maybe one of her friends, but the only friend that I knew of was Evelyn and that friendship ended too after my parents forced me to marry her rival. And wait, that man, what was his name, Hoax, Holt, Holder !!! Holder might know where she is.
I know where he lives. All I have to do is just drive to his place. Maybe he can help me look. Hurriedly, I picked up my coat and the car keys and rushed out.
Just as I was walking downstairs I heard giggling from the kitchen.
When I went further, what I saw made my blood boil and all I could see was red. That bastard had his hands around her. Ailey was in the kitchen with Holder ! Both were lost in there own world and that made me snap.
"What the f*ck are you doing here ?"
The sound of my voice made them snap and move apart. But Holder still kept a hand around Ailey."Adrian. What ?!"
Oh the nerve of this women to play dumb in front of me. I saw them hugging for pete's sake. What kind of a fool does she think I am.
"Where the hell were you ? Do you know how worried we all had been... Did you even think. And your phone. Why didn't yoi pick any of my damn calls ?!"
"Hey man don't talk to her that way. It is not her fault." Holder tried to interrupt.
"Interrupt me one more time mate and I assure you... You won't be walking out of this place alive."
I glared at him angrily and the look he returned me was sure enough to say 'bring it on asshole'
Before I could step forward. A meek voice came from the middle.
"Stop... Just stop it both of you... Holder you should leave... I'll call you soon...please".
He nodded towards Ailey and giving her a small hug left while passing me another glare on his way out.
As the door closed. I looked down back to my wife.
But before I could speak, she cut me to it."I am sorry. I didn't pick any of your calls. I was busy with customers at my bookshop then I went to the gr- never mind... And besides you shouldn't worry about me... You have made it clear our paths don't match".
~Ailey's POV~
I said everything that came into my mind in a haste and tried to walk past Adrian. The look on his face will always be stored in my memory. He looked stunned. As if no one had ever stood up to him the way I had.
I hadn't walked a foot or two. When suddenly he grasped my arm pulling me back.
I shrieked at his tight grip and tried to jiggle my way out.
"Let go..."
"No... Now you listen to me... Why were you talking to him that way. What are you dating him behind my back. Cheating on me ? What do you want ? Money?".
With each word his grip on me tightened and I closed my eyes, so he couldn't see the tears that were welling up.
"Didn't your parents teach you anything. Or are they despicable gold diggers like you... Or you-"
That's it. I have tolerated him enough. With all the strength I had I pushed him hard enough so he would let go and he stumbled back a bit.
"Don't talk about my parents that way!!! They are dead Adrian... Unlike you I have no one to run of too... Holder and Andrea... They are the only two people who have been with me... Not you... Not your bitch of a girlfriend... Not anyone... So don't you dare stand here and talk to me about manners and morals".
I gave him another glare and this time luckily walked up to my room. Closing the door angrily and with a sharp snap.
I rushed towards the bed and fell onto it... Soaking the pillows with the endless stream of tears that was bound to come.
I missed my old life. I missed my friends... My true friends... And above all... I truly badly missed my parents...
