Bentley's P.O.V
"Gretchen you said that you were leaving first thing in the morning it's eight o'clock so leave!" I said my own words sounding extremely rude to my own ears. Last night Ava's grandmother showed up asking if she could just stay the night. Now a logical answer to that request would've been no but I guess I wasn't thinking right because I actually agreed. I'll blame it on the percentage of alcohol that was in my system.
"Daddy!" Tyler greeted barging into the kitchen. "Where's Stacey?" I asked confused as to where she came from. "They're outside with max and daisy." She said before stretching her short arms towards me. "Good morning." She greeted after I picked her up turning her attention to her ' great grandmother' who stood looking at the encounter closely. She didn't answer though and I didn't care as far as I know the only grandparent the girls had died four years ago.
"Gretchen grab your things and leave." I said walking out of the kitchen. "I want to talk to Marie." She said her words causing me to freeze. "Ty go meet your sister." I said watching her walk through the glass doors that lead to the backyard. Why Stacey had my children outside at eight in the morning was way past me but whatever they were doing they seemed to enjoy it so I didn't worry too much about it.
"You and your daughter have been testing my patience for the past six months. Why are you really here?" I asked my anger quickly flaring. "She deserves to know." She said looking directly at me. "If you want money I'll give you money just leave her alone. The both of you know it's going to crush her so why do you want to tell her so much?!?" I asked stunned that she brought up the topic.
"Unlike my daughter your money doesn't affect me I have enough of it. You pay a hella lot to try and keep my mouth shut which shows how much you care for her it's too bad I don't." She said putting her hands on her hip. "So you lied about passing through to go somewhere?" I asked both temporarily defeated and exhausted. "No I'm going to meet my firstborn great grand baby she was born on Sunday." She said smiling sweetly.
"Well that's good for all of you so now you could be on your marry way." I said pointing towards my front door. "You think when she finds out you hide things from her she's going to be happy about it?" She asked brushing a stray strand of her grey hair away from her brown eyes. "That has nothing to do with you. What I do is my business. Gretchen for somebody who disowned their grandchild you are involved a lot don't you think?" I asked.
"Ava!" She screamed causing my heart to rock my rib cage. "What the fuck are you doing?!?" I seethed covering her mouth with my hand which of course she bit. "I don't care if I have to rip this house down she is going to find out today!" She screamed at me. I could relax though our bedroom was sound proof somewhat for certain reasons I guess her crazy ass grandmother would have to be included also.
"Gretchen I will bodily throw you out of this house if I have too." I warned. "Fine I'll leave." She said calmly exiting the door. That was almost too easy? Turning I felt like I came face to face with a ghost hell all the blood from my face drained. "Baby I could...,""Explain?" She finished my sentence before I could.
"Well Bentley please explain to me why my grandmother was just here and why you found it fit to threaten her?" She ask folding her arms over her chest which only caused her breast to look even bigger in the thin vest she was wearing. I had two options; one being just lie and two being tell the truth. Honestly I was leaning towards lying but I didn't know how much she heard so telling the truth seemed like the best route.
"She wanted to talk to me about something." I said not daring to look up at my pissed wife who stood directly in front of me . "So that's it?" She asked I felt like a three year old and the fact that Gretchen and her big ass mouth got me in this predicament in the first place only fueled my burning anger. "Ava what else do you want me to tell you?" I asked snapping at her although she did nothing wrong but I was trying to protect her and here she was getting angry at me.
