Bentley's P.O.V

"I didn't cheat on her God dammit!" I screamed glaring at the persistent blonde that stood adjacent from me. "Bentley if I were you I'd tell the truth she's actually serious about this divorce." Stacey sighed unfolding her arms allowing them to tiredly fall at her sides. "She never gave me the chance to explain anything and the only time she wanted to talk about us was when she suspected something else and that didn't end well as we all know." I mumbled throwing my body onto my office chair.

"Bentley you've manipulated this situation so many times and it has finally turned around and bit you in the ass. Everybody's confused you're mistress is clearly not pregnant so does that mean that you just slept with her or not? Ava claims not to care but it's pretty hard for her to keep up this front. You need to fix this shitty situation you've created." She growled her emerald eyes darkening a few shades as she glared at me.

"I know I just wanted to give her some space to calm down I guess I don't want to upset her anymore getting stabbed once was enough." I replied fiddling with the gold wedding band on my finger. "You lied about cheating on her?" Kevin asked after a long pause. "I didn't lie I never said that I cheated on her. I didn't even know why she left me on the island until a day after she left and now she claims that I've been having affairs with women throughout our entire relationship. Beth- God how I wish I could kill that woman. She's psychopathic I never slept with her and the only reason I thought I may have once was because I woke up half naked in her hotel room a morning while on a business trip. I couldn't remember what happened the night before and she claimed that we slept together. I had the security footage at the hotel reviewed and it turns out that she drugged me." I rambled verbalizing one of the many problems that added to my extremely hight stress level.

"I'm tired of everything going on around me. I've done everything in my power to keep Ava happy yet I've continuously failed. It's been five years and clearly I've done nothing but make her miserable. The only woman I've ever truly loved thinks that I don't, even though I did everything in my power to prove how much I do through my actions and words. It's as though we were bound to fail. I was bound to fail her. She's not going to believe me and even though I hate to admit this...our marriage ended the day Brent mailed that little brat to my front door." I grumbled pulling out a half empty bottle of scotch from my office draw hoping that the rich chestnut liquid would get rid of the excruciating ache in my chest.

"You're not doing what I think you're doing? You're giving up!?!!!" Stacey screeched flying off of her chair pure horror contorting her features. "Bentley you have proof that you're not the cheating bastard that we thought you were. If you love Ava then you'll fight for her. You're not the type to give up." She said firmly forcefully slamming her tiny hands onto my desk."Stacey I love Ava and if this divorce is what's going to make her happy then I'll give it to her. I want her to be happy and clearly I wasn't capable of doing that when we were in a relationship she deserves better as she rightfully stated. I'm not giving up I'm just giving the woman I love what she wants and clearly she doesn't want me anymore." I said shrugging my shoulders before taking another long swing of the liquid fire that lovingly caressed my throat scorching my tender flesh as it glided down my throat distracting me from the sickening feeling that racked my body as the words left my lips. "You're not okay with this Bentley. I know you're not. Just try one more time to prove your love to her." She begged her eyes becoming glassy in the process.

"Stacey I don't think I have to prove that I love Ava-Marie with every fiber of my body because of like to think she'd know that by now. But if I don't make her happy the most I could do is allow her to experience true happiness with somebody that's not...me. She said that I was a broken boy. I think as the broken boy I some how presented to my wife I'll be better off alone and I'm okay with that I guess. I've been selfish for quite some time, this is my opportunity to be selfless and once Ava and our children are happy then I'll be okay. Don't worry I'll have my Whisky and Brandy to get me through it when I'm not around the girls." I said forcing a tight smile desperately trying to hide the emotional hurricane that was raging through my body. I refused to let them see me cry. Ava seeing me as weak and pathetic was enough I didn't need them to think the same thing.
