Ava's P.O.V
"Bentley?" I asked at lost for words looking down at the shiny object that sat in the box I held in my hand. "You like it?" He asked looking at my reaction. "It's beautiful but I don't need another ring." I said glimpsing at the over sized diamond ring that winked back at me.
"Baby you deserve it. I love you to the moon and back just think of it as a reminder." He said pulling my body to his before capturing me lips in a slow passionate kiss. It's been a week since his father's surprise visit and even though I don't know what they talked about I do know that ever since Bentley's been on edge.
"Bentley." I said causing him to stop kissing my neck although I wanted to react to it I knew I had to address his strange behavior. We've had sex every day for the past week, this diamond ring is just one expensive gift I've received for the week. "What's wrong?" I asked him looking into his clouded blue eyes. Instantly pooling with emotions the two that stood out the most was love and hurt?
"Nothing baby." He said kissing my lips but his voice held sadness in it. "You know that whatever it is you could tell me." I said lightly stroking his stubbled cheek with my thumb. "I...I really do love you Ava you just need to promise me that you'll remember that." He said his words didn't comfort me instead they did the complete opposite .
"What is that supposed to do Bentley comfort me? Something's wrong and you choose to hide it from me and keep it all bottled up!" I said frustrated that he'd keep something that's bothering him from me. "Baby calm down." He said attempting to hold my hand but I pulled it away. "Don't tell me to calm down Bentley. I'm only going to ask this one more time." I said looking at him as if daring him to lie to me again.
"Baby. I'm just a bit stressed with work that's it." He said I knew that wasn't the entire truth. I couldn't help it lately I've been emotional per say and this situation only spiked my urge to cry. "Ava don't...cry." He said stressed while a full on river flowed from my eyes. "I don't know... why don't you tell me stuff?" I asked between sniffles.
"I do tell you stuff I just don't want you stressed baby that's it. Come on don't cry." He said wiping away my tears. I didn't know what was bothering him but I wasn't going to push him. He'll tell me whenever he feels comfortable I guess.

Bentley's P.O.V
"That's what he said?" Ryan asked as though me telling him wasn't enough. "And what are you going to do?" Jake asked bombarding me with questions as if I didn't have enough problems they all came to my office adding to my already high stress level. "I bought a new house." I said looking at the four men who sat on the opposite side of my desk.
"That's your game plan?" Kevin asked roiling his eyes. "Your just like your father!" Jake said standing which instantly caused my temper to flair. "Get out!" I growled it taking everything in me not to knock him out. "Bentley hiding things from her is what got you in this mess in the first place maybe coming clean is what you should do instead of buying her things!" He screamed.
"He has a point." Ryan said shrugging his shoulders. Telling Ava although it maybe the best thing to do it's easier said than done. "We know that you don't want to risk loosing her but I think it would be better coming from you rather than someone else." He bargained with me. "I know." I finally spoke weary the entire situation being draining.
"So?" Kevin asked looking at me expectingly. "I'll talk to her when I get home." I said raking my fingers through my messy blonde hair. "We could babysit the girls to give you some space." Jake offered which caused me to immediately shake my head. "It's fine." I said looking at them they are the worst babysitter ever!
"Okay so just because the last time we babysat there was a small fire doesn't mean it'll happen again!" Ryan defended very poorly must I say. "Firstly the fire was not small you guys burned down my pool house with the help of two four year olds who thought it was a new game." I said completely lost as to how they could call that small.
"Yet Ty and Sky still think we're the bestest uncles ever!" Kevin said causing me to laugh. "Because we are!" Ky finally decided to join the conversation. "Whatever helps you guys sleep at night." I said when my phone rang Ava's number flashing across my screen.
"Hey baby." I greeted. Normally she doesn't call when I'm at work so I knew something wasn't right. "Candy's at the house." She said simply which confused me. "What house?" I asked confused as to why she would call me to inform me about Candy. "Bentley she's at our front door and refuses to leave until she talks to you okay!" She shouted clearly aggravated.
"I....I'm on my way." I said my heart going into over drive instantly. "I gotta go." I said before jogging out of my office and into the elevator. I'll explain it to the guys when I fully understand what's really going on because right now my mind is totally swirling with possibilities. Candy fucked up my relationship with Ava once and there isn't going to be a second time if I have anything to do with it.
🌱
"Candy why are you here?" I asked my anger quickly rising when she had the audacity to smile at me. "You look sexy Ben." She said winking at me. "Candy it's way to early in the day for me to deal with your shit! What do you want?" I asked struggling to keep my cool.
"All fun aside we need to talk. Your secretary wouldn't let me come into your office to talk to you so I thought coming here would finally get your attention. Guess I was right." She said giggling which caused me to sigh. "Well you do now what?" I asked irritated even more that she pulled this stunt on purpose.
"Don't I get invited in I've been sitting out here for hours. Ava's really mean I know she's in there." She said placing her hand on her hip. "No but I could get you water then you'll tell me what you have to say and then leave." I said walking into the house where Ava sat on the couch looking blankly at the tv that was off.
I didn't even get a chance to speak before a vase was flying in my direction. "That's it!?!" She screamed. "Candy Bentley? Candy!!! That's what you've been hiding?!?" She screamed throwing yet another random object at me I'm guessing she won't stop until she hits me. "Ava!" I screamed jumping out of her aim.
"I can't believe you! What you wanted to feel like you were in high school again?" She asked throwing yet another vase yet until a moment ago before she started throwing shit I never realized how many vases the formal sitting area had. "You always go out of your way to make me feel worthless right." She said attempting to throw another object but I grabbed her hand pulling her body closer to mine.
"Baby calm down." I said between ragged breaths. I guess it's a good thing the girls are still at school. "She just wanted to talk. I don't know about what but this is the first time in three years I've seen Candy." I said looking at my wife's now tear stained face. "Then what does she want?" She asked between sniffles. "I'm going to talk to her go clean up I'll clean this up once I'm done." I said before releasing her.
"Who's that?" I asked looking at Candy for answers seeing that there was nobody here when I left her outside, well except her now she had company. "Oh well Bentley meet your daughter. Amy meet your daddy." She said smiling largely. My head was spinning and none of this was making any sense right now. This has to be a really really bad dream, God I hope it is!
