Ava's P.O.V
I anxiously tugged at the material of my black pencil skirt my brown eyes scanning my appearance looking for anything that was out of place. From my glossy black red bottom pumps to my black pencil skirt I paired with a simply matching long sleeved round neck t shirt and a black and white striped blazer. I look good yet that didn't help soothe my racing heart and ragged breathing. Tightening my grip on my black handbag I turned with a sigh making my way to my destination.
The chilly December air casually brushed against my exposed skin twirling my freshly cut hair in its fingertips temporarily soothing me. "Good evening Mrs. Johnson I'll lead you to your table Mr. Johnson is already here." A brunet waiter chirped smiling largely at me once I walked into the air conditioned restaurant. "Great!" I said mockingly following behind her. Walking into a secluded room of the restaurant where it gave a beautiful view of the bustling streets below it through thick glass.
"Thank you." I said politely to the retreating figure of the waitress avoiding the burning gaze of the seated blue eyed devil I call my husband. "Are you going to sit or just stand there gazing at the carpet?" He asked causing my eyes to snap to his. With a sigh I took my seat adjacent from him averting my eyes out the window at the busy city. "What'd you do to your hair?" Bentley asked causing me to roll my eyes. "You don't like it?" I asked patiently waiting for his comment on my medium length brown and blonde bob. "No I don't like it nothing was wrong with your natural hair Ava-Marie." He said running his fingers through his neatly combed hair.
"But baby I thought you liked blondes and brunettes so I thought maybe if I did a little of the two you'd love it." I mucked in a high pitched voice earning myself a low growl causing me to smirk successfully. "I'm not in the mood for games Ava-Marie." He said lowly choosing to remain silent I waited for him to continue. "You have a lot to explain." He said going into business mood which only added to my irritation. "I have a lot to explain?" I asked cocking my head to the side stressing my every word knowing fully well that I was whining him up.
"Ava you fucking moved out of our house without my permission!" He barked his face turning a bright red. "I wasn't aware that I needed you're permission to make decisions Bentley." I said firmly maintaining eye contact with the visibly angry man. "You need fucking permission when your decisions include our children Ava." He grated out through clenched teeth. "I don't get why you thought you'd just waltz back here after three weeks and our lives would go back to normal." I said looking at him confused as to why he thought he could tell me what to do.
"You asked for space Ava I gave you twenty one days worth of space while I was fifteen thousand miles away. I didn't think that you'd pick my kids up and move out of our fucking house to God knows where!" He shouted causing me to flinch not because he raised his voice but because of the hurt that flashed in his eyes which was quickly masked with burning anger. "You could come visit them whenever you want to Bentley It's not as though I'm keeping them away from you." I said matter of factly.
"Don't sit there and act all innocent as though you don't know what you're doing to me Ava-Marie." He whispered causing my heart to swell with guilt an emotion I quickly pushed aside. "You can't come here and play the victim Bentley for crying out loud I'm the victim! You cheated on me and got another woman pregnant. That gives me all the right to want to get as far away from you as possible. What'd you expect me to do go home cry for three weeks then welcome you back home with opened arms?!?" I screeched feeling my pent up anger blossom spewing out of my mouth coating my words with hurt and rage.
"I get that I hurt you but honestly I could care less if you wanted to run away from our problems but dragging our children along with you because of a decision you made out of pure emotion gives me the right to get angry." He stated firmly folding his arms over his chest as though he'd won the argument with that simple statement. "You don't have to worry about it though you're stuff is being moved back home as we speak. By the way where are our children?" He asked before casually taking a sip from his coffee. "Skyler's at ballet and Tyler's at soccer practice." I grumbled silently fuming at his boldness.
