I yawned and stretched out my arms. I blinked my eyes and checked the clock.
2pm! Ahh! I need to get to Amelia's by 3pm and I still haven't picked up my dress from DeLaLindleFawkes! Ahh!! I grabbed sown random clothes from my closet and threw them on, grabbing a sling bag with my iPhone, purse and car keys in it.
I jumped inside my Porsche and drove off towards DeLaLindleFawkes. As I ran inside the shop, Mdm Tuppence hurriedly shoved a large black bag that covered my outfit for tonight. I thanked her and she replied,"Why don't you just pay for them all on Friday, my dear?" I nodded and rushed to the car.
I swerved through the streets like a maniac, ignoring the whispers and whistles as I drove past. As I ran to Amelia's lawn as I gripped my cloth bag.
"Hey, girl!" Kelly shouted,"Someone pulled off the bad girl look today." Amelia ran up to me and squealed,"OMG!!! You look fab, girl!" I walked inside and grinned. Her house was decorate very nicely. It was spacious, but not as big as my house, of course. I stared into the floor length mirror. I had totally rocked the bad girl thing. I wore a low cut shirt and revealing sweater that showed a lot of cleavage. Ripped shorts covered my thighs and shin-high boots were on my feet. My hair was in a messy plait which complete the whole look. Alice just raised an eyebrow and smiled.
Kelly, Amelia and I were really close. Alice was sort of distant, while Alicia was in the middle. Wait a second...
"Where's Alicia?" I asked suspiciously. Maybe she was hiding...
"Um..." Amelia stuttered. Alice turned away and looked out the window. I could see here tears splashing against the window sill. Kelly bit her lip and blinked the tears out of her eyes. "What happened?" I pressed on. Amelia let out a big breath. "Well..." She started. When I crossed my arms, she sighed and gave in,"Fine. She came to the house a few hours ago. She was dressed in a very revealing dress. Kelly said that she really didn't want Alicia to where such inappropriate outfits, courtesy of Jonathan and Daniel. Alicia snorted and said that Kelly wasn't really her friend then. She rolled her eyes at Kelly and spit out gum, stomping on it with her high heeled boots. Then she insulted Alice and said that she was so innocent and useless, and couldn't do anything right. Alicia revealed that she had just become friends with Kelly and Alice to become popular and have a shot at Mr Hot and Sexy, Bryce." Amelia stopped short and refused to continue. "Why the sudden change of mind? Why did she suddenly want to tell you guys about it?" I asked curiously. This time, it was Alice who answered,"Alicia said that she was jealous of you and that she had wanted Bryce for herself. She also said that she hated you, and that was why she decided to hate Kelly and I, after she had started to like us." Alice sank down on the window seat, her face in her hands. Kelly walked over and sympathetically tried to comfort Alice. I was horrified. I murmured,"This is all my fault! If I hadn't become friends with you guys, Alicia would still be your friend! I should leave now." I turned towards the door, reaching for he door handle miserably. "No, Vivian. Any fried of ours who doesn't like us or you for who we are, isn't a friend of ours," Kelly placed her hand on my shoulder and pulled me back. I gave a weak smile, fighting back my tears. I was so lucky to have such great friends!
"Group hug!" Amelia recovered from her silence and squealed. We gathered around and put our arms around each other.
"Say cheese!" Kelly shouted as she whipped out her phone and caught a picture of us. All of us giggles, including Alice who seemed to be distracted from her misery. Amelia clapped her hands and commanded, "Okay, enough moping around. Let's get to work on your hair. We only have 3 hours left!" Kelly dragged us upstairs, excitedly chatting about Amelia's cool makeup and hair stuff.
The second floor was amazing. There were five rooms with entrances blocked by curtains. The floor was oak wood and had multiple scratches amongst it. It as cozy and pretty, but in a different way from my glamorous house. I peered inside on so the rooms and gasped in surprise. There were curling irons, hairbrushes, makeup kits, hair stuff, jewelry, anything you would need for a makeover.
I emerged from the room and screamed,"Why do you have makeup room in your house!!!!!" Amelia laughed an said that her mother was a makeup artist. She assigned us each to a room and gave us the instructions,"We'll each go into a room and do our makeup and stuff. After two and a half hours, we meet back here, ok?" After seeing our nods, she gestured to the room for each of us. I was assigned to the room with a fry curtain. I stepped inside and marveled at the beauty of the room.
There were crystal-encrusted floor length mirrors decorating the walls of the room. Paintings of famous monarchs and people were hung on the walls in an elegant manner. I placed my dress on a dress rack and unzipped the covering.
It was beautiful! It was white in color and had a slit that traveled up to the low-thigh part of the dress. As I felt the material, the smoothness of the dress was incredible. It was pure cotton and simple, yet it was the most complicated dress I had ever seen. Matching white heels were placed in a book and the bottom of the bag. A hair clasp was hung on the left of the inside of the bag. It had diamonds and crystals decorating it across the whole hair pin. A white Hermez bag hung on the inside of the bag. Only a simple charm bracelet was hung on the right side of the interior of the bag. It was a simple chain with one charm hung on it. The charm was that of a beautiful hummingbird made from topaz, its beak opened in the middle of a song. A note was attached below it;Dearest Vivian,
I am visiting your mother currently in the hospital. She is very ill and still has not yet woken up from her coma. I miss you so much and I hope that your first night as yourself any well. This charm was found in your mother's bedside table drawer. It had a small note attached. It was addressed to you, from your mother.
I did not read it and neither did anyone else. It is enclosed here in this letter. It is your choice to read it. I'll see you next week, don't worry! I love you!Love,
DadI found a small folded piece of paper stapled to the bottom of the letter. I took a deep breath and slowly unfolded the letter.
