Chapter 24: Its Just a Memory

I sat there quietly while a pirate stared at me face to face.

"Her eyes..." He said. "Colorless"

"Yeah but how to we fix it?" Nova said.

"Where is that Speedy girl, she must be horrible to not witness your downfall" I snapped. They looked at me and the spider guy chuckled a bit.

"This isn't funny." Nova glared.

"Ok ok im sorry." Spiderman laughed.

"So I just had an idea" A tall white haired man who looked pretty buff.

"A true loves kiss" He laughed, they all cracked up but Nova's face was turned and annoyed.

"It's worth a shot" The pirate said.

"Touch me and I'll kill you!!" I screamed. I realized I was hand cuffed to the sides of the bed, no escape.

"No no " Nova said.

"Oh come on, Genesis doesn't mind" The man child in footsies say.

"I can't it's just weird" Nova said.

"Oh come on you do it all the time" The tiger girl said.

"Yeah but it's not her and I'm going to force myself onto her." Nova walked out of the room.

"I guess that plan is out" The white haired boy said.

"THE ARTIFICIAL MEMORIES" Spiderman said. The pirates eyes widened.

"How do you know about that?" he asked.

"Riley told us about them, and by the way you're a huge jerk Fury." he said.

"I guess it might remind her of who she is" He said. He turned towards the guard and told him something, The guard ran off. He came back with head gear and a few boxes.

"Why the hell did you bring me this one, this isn't the right one" He whispered but I heared every word, I was terrified on what would happen next. They put the head gear on me and they switched it on.

My mind was blank just as I started, I glared at my parents and I smiled.

The video was fast forward and I saw every bit of it. Yeah this feels like I know this by heart.

But a footage of me in the park singing and a girl was near me it was cut off and skipped to me waking up. I frowned, a missing piece. and as I went along, I saw many other missing pieces. They pulled off the head hear and they looked at me

My head was throbbing and I felt weak.

"Am I Riley?" I asked holding my head.

"Look she's making it back."

"Why are there missing pieces to my life " I asked.

"Well they weren't important" he said. I pulled his jacket trying to ignore my head telling me to sleep.

"Fury I don't think all my memories are back, return them ALL, by tommorrow" I threatened.

"Or what" he snarled.

"I don't think you want to hear the or what." I hissed

"Alright break it up," Danny got between us.

"You know Fury you're always hiding something, everything is secrets and hiding with you. Well learn this, that is my life you stole from me" I said.

"Look who decided to make a comeback! We didn't steal anything. You just weren't normal to be left alone" he said walking out of the room. I jumped at him but remembered, Restraints.

I put my head on the pillow and took a sighed because this head is going to kill me. I fell asleep and I was staring at my self in a mirror.

"Why are my eyes pale?" I looked around my face. Another screen popped up and it showed a brown haired girl. The footage was blurry and I couldn't make her out.

My head started to hurt once more. "How do I have a headache in my own head" I asked annoyed, but maybe because I'm in my head the pain got stronger and stronger.

I looked up and the dark room was now red, the screen showed up as my angry moments. I smile and laugh at my happier moments. I woke up with a jolt, because some one woke me up.

"Riley, roll over or get out" Ava said. I groaned loudly and got up.

"I don't understand why you're in the infirmary when you have your own room. Sleep on the floor." I said.

"No, the floor is dirty" she yelled. My head still huffed so I leaned on the wall and walked to the lab. I was practically dragging myself because this feeling here is practically hell.

"Yes that's the side effects of your custom headgear" Agent Hill stood next to me, I smiled a bit.

"Hey Maria" I said half asleep.

"Why are you up?" She said.

"Cause I was going to steal something from the lab" I said not being able to come up with a lie on spot.

"You probably shouldn't have told me that." she said.

"Too late. Where is Fury then?" I asked. On a mission with Spiderman and Power man.

"I didn't know Fury went on missions."

"Well they have been gone for the past 6 hours." she said.

"I have been sleeping for 6 hours?" I asked.

"Yes that's normal for you, it was weird when you slept in your stasis state as well. But they had to make everything back to normal especially after the first time you woke up." Maria scoffed.

"What happened" I asked politely still dragging myself.

"You met some one.... You immediately wanted to run away, and we couldn't afford to lose you" she said.

"So you were brainwashed me? AND erasing memories?" I sighed.

"But if unlocking these small forgotten memories from the vault makes your memory come back then, so be it" she said. Luke was walking in proudly with two people behind him.

"Mom an dad meet-" Luke started.

"Is that Riley?" The woman asked.

"She is all grown up now" His dad said. They came near me and examined my body.

"Stand up straightor you'll be the hunch back of New York" She stood me up straight. I was too tired to even retailiate, and plus I don't know these people so I kept quiet. I looked at Luke with confusion.

"She doesn't remember." The woman said clenching her fist.

"Well, we were on the sideline of your whole thing making sure you weren't killed" He said.

"Why did I have an artificial childhood but you decided to let me go at 15?" I asked.

"Because your power levels were through the roof when you came, we had to stabilize it and it isn't healthy for you to not have a childhood." Maria said.

"Oh so that's how you know her" Luke nodded.

"So we have found it" Coulson said. I was dragged on or either pushed because my head still hurt, we turned into the television room and they all looked at me.

"Since it's not safe to do two transmissions in the same day."

"We'll hook you up to a machine to see if this is the memory because we have one other" Maria said. My fingers were strapped to the machine to check my blood pressure.

I looked at the pretty big screen and it showed me a memory when I fell out the helicarrier. I nodded. "Now be warn the people here are real and true." Luke's dad stalled.

"Yes yes just show me it" I said. He plugged it in and I was shown in a orange hazy town.
