Chapter 29: Carefree, Arizona

"Sam this is a bad time I shouldn't be flying and face timing you" Jesse laughed

"How do you have service?" Sam asked.

"Is that your question?" He asked.

"No no, where in Arizona did we live?" he asked.

"I mustn't tell you here, Shield could be recording this probably and I don't want them near our family. He said.

"You remember where Robin's house was?" He asked. Sam nodded.

"We still live there, after you left. Just incase you'd ever go back" he said.

"Say hi to Riley and Robin for me" he said smiling. Sam's face fell.

"Robin is dead." He mumbled.

"I'm sorry to hear that. When I get home we can talk about it then. Ok?"

"Sure. Bye dad." He smiled. His dad returned the expression and hung up. "Let's move" he said running past me.

We boarded the jet and Sam just typed in a place and we went. It never takes long in a shield jet, probably like 2 hours.

I stepped outside in the dry Arizona air. "Where are we?" I asked.

"You don't need to know" He said grabbing my hand and leading me to where ever.

I said put on my sunshades and tied my hair up. "You used to live in this heat?" I grumbled.

"Look there is Robin's old house" He said pointing. The house was small but pretty big, it makes no sense but if you'd see it you'd know.

"And here it is I think" he sighed. I squeezed his hand tighter. He knocked on the door, the door immediately opened.

"Daddy?" The little girl asked. Her face dropped in anger and she slammed the door on us.

"Wow.." My eyes widened. The door opened again and a woman about my height smiled.

"Sorry about my daughter, Her father is always, somewhere" she laughed pushing her hair back.

"Are you miss Alexander?" I asked looking at Sam. He was staring at the little girl and her mother.

Sam was really shaking. He didn't speak he just stared. The as soon as the woman looked up she was taken aback. "Sam?"

I looked at him and his mouth was trying to speak but he was just awkwardly shaking. She approached his face and hugged him. "Its ok mijo, you're finally back" She smiled wiping tears from her eyes. I watched as the girl slinked back into the house undetected

"Kaelynn?" His mother called. She froze and walked back to the door "This is your brother." She said choking on tears.

She eyed him up and down. "Where is his superhero costume? Isn't it like dad's" She put her hand on her hip.

"So much sass" I said.

"Come come inside" Sam's mother said.

"Jesse said you'd visit, I didn't know when. Look how much my baby has grown" she said.

"Who's this?" They turned to me."
