Danny's POV
I really didn't like Ridley.
He was arrogant, annoying and WAY too good looking for his own good, and he obviously has no taste in music. He hung around Lea like he owned her, and Lena somehow liked him? Who did he think he was?
After he got the band name wrong, I'd corrected him and attempted to be nice. I tried to make small talk, you know, the weather and stuff, but it wasn't working.
"So Dan?" I resisted the urge to scowl, my friends called me Dan. He was not my friend. "How long have The Script been going now?" I attempted to look like I was thinking.
"Well... it's been about twelve years now..." I answered. Ridley nodded, seriously he looked like a bobble head! Or one of those stupid nodding dogs that people stuck in their back car windows. He grinned stupidly.
"Cool! So... you're a bit older than Lena then." He said. Lena scowled at him, then looked warningly at me. I smiled, then answered.
"Yeah, but it was her choice, and I'm happy to go with whatever she says." Lena let out a breath and Lea glared at Ridley. She decided to change the subject.
"Hey, Lena!" She cried. "Guess what? I'm moving in with Rid!" Lena squealed and hugged Lea.
"Great!" She exclaimed. Lea nodded and Ridley and I stared at each other. Eventually he gave in. Nobody beats me at a staring contest. I zoned back in on the current conversation.
"...Yeah so I'm gonna get all my stuff now then move in tonight!" Lea was saying. Ridley wound his arm around Lea's waist, still glaring at me while trying to look happy.
"Yeah babe," He said. "We better get going once you've got your stuff! We need to get you settled in quick!" Lea nodded, gazing into his eyes. Yuck. Were Lena and I like that? I'm pretty sure we weren't.
Finally, after some mild bickering -from Lea and Ridley, not me- the two lovebirds left.
"It's about time!" I cried, collapsing onto the sofa. Lena looked at me disapprovingly. "What?"
"It is still her house." She scolded.
"I know, I've no problem with Lea, it's him that I don't like." I stated. Lena smiled.
"Is Danny jealous?" She asked in a baby voice. I scowled. I was not jealous.
"No." Lena laughed.
"You SO are!" She cried, sitting down. I shook my head.
"I'm not!" I insisted. We both laughed and I tickled Lena playfully. She squealed and curled up.
Yeah, you can see where this is going...
Selena's POV
We rolled around on the floor, play fighting. Danny had started it by tickling me and now somehow we'd ended up biting, nipping and flailing. It had escalated quickly, with Danny's legs tangled with mine, his hair completely ruined, and his hand grasping one of my wrists, trying to stop me from getting to him.
We both laughed and a childish, giddy feeling overcame me. I felt my head hit the floor as Danny knocked me down and I laughed as he leant over me. He looked so perfect, hair tousled and sticking up at odd angles and his gorgeous eyes shining with glee. A wide smile lit up his face. As he leant in, I felt my heart leap within my ribcage, thumping rapidly. I closed my eyes, feeling his hand at my waist and his thumb gently brush my cheek.
Then Cat stormed through the door and slammed it behind her. She completely ignored Danny and I for a moment, then sat herself down on the sofa, throwing her ballet bag to the side.
We quickly stood up and Danny attempted to fix his hair, while I smoothed out my crumpled t-shirt. Cat scowled at the floor and mumbled to herself.
"I bloody hate her... That bitch... That cow!" I indicated to Danny to go out of the room and sat down next to Cat, putting my arm around her.
"Is it Clara again?" I asked gently. Clara was the stuck up ballerina from Kensington. Her parents paid for everything, from her private tuition, to her crystal encrusted ballet pumps. I'd only met her once and had taken an immediate disliking to her. Cat nodded, scowling at the floor as though she was going to attack it.
"She took my main role in the spring performance, and Royal School of Ballet tutors are coming to watch. I'll never get accepted." Cat complained. I sighed, I knew how much a scholarship in the Royal School of Ballet meant to her, it was one of the only reasons she'd travelled to the Uk in the first place. I hugged her.
"Well, no matter what role you have in that performance, you'll be great." I said firmly. "Even if you play a tree, you will be the most graceful tree ever." I felt her chest move as she laughed quietly. I smiled.
"See," I said. "You'll get that scholarship." I held onto Cat tightly, feeling her arms around my waist. She was such a good friend. It was just a shame that my best friend wasn't here to comfort her also.
I sat in the chair next to Sam's bed, Danny beside me. I hadn't seen her for a few days now, so it was nice to see that face, no matter how blank or lifeless.
The tubes attached to her were still there, and the steady beep of her heart was recorded on the countless machines. I talked to her for a while, just talking, like old times. To think, those old times had only been a few weeks ago. So much had changed.
"Hey Sam." I said. "Yeah, so I've not been here for a few days. Sorry 'bout that but you would not believe what has happened." Right on cue, Danny left the room to get a coffee. He knew when I needed space. "Yeah... so Danny O'Donoghue is officially my boyfriend." I said. "Yeah, he's perfect right? He's so amazing, kind, gorgeous... Ok, so I'm going off subject here. Honestly, what would you say to me? You'd probably scream a lot, or just stand there with your mouth hanging open like last time you met him." I laughed. "You looked like you were gonna go insane." I held her hand tightly. "I mean, a month ago, if you had told me that Danny flipping O'Donoghue would kiss me and ask me out, I would have had a heart attack!" I chuckled, then stood up. Visiting times were over soon. "Bye Sam, I'll be back soon, I'll tell you everything that happens."
Danny was waiting outside with two coffees. I took one and sipped it slowly. It was about five o'clock now, and I just wanted to go home.
We sat on the sofa, watching tv, again. It was kind of boring but at least it gave me an excuse to be close to Danny. I smiled at him, yet his face was blank, staring into space.
"Dan?" Danny looked at me, snapping out of it.
"Yeah?"
"You ok?" He nodded.
"I'm fine." He replied, then an expression dawned on his face. "You know what? I'm gonna take you out tomorrow." I grinned.
"Where?"
"It's a surprise." I frowned.
"You don't know." I said.
"I do, it's just a surprise!" He insisted.
"Well, what should I where?" Danny looked confused, so I explained. "Will it be hot, cold? Wet? Dry? I need to know what to wear."
"Oh. Just what you normally wear." He replied. "Besides, you look great in anything. You're gonna love it!"
