Y/N POV

The sun was shining so brightly that it woke me from my peaceful rest. I was quite shock when I realised that Draco might just give up on proposing and I would be alone forever. And after that, I just felt pissed, confused and embarrassed for the dumb stuff I did. Mind you, I only chose passing out as a mere pretence a second before it was the reality.

My gaze fell to my bandaged feet as soon as I took off the blanket. Did I really just faint because of that? I swore, I only lost a tiny bit of blood. Since when did I become so weak?

"I was so worried you won't wake up."

I turned to see Draco coming with a tray of food. I guess he's replacing the house-elf now, might as well right? He was already playing servant to some noseless dark lord anyway.

"I didn't hear you coming, you're good at sneaking. Maybe you can sneak your way into Hogwarts with me," I spoke and he could clearly hear my unfriendly tone.

Oh my Lord, what's wrong with me? Why do I get annoyed at everything?

"Funny Y/N. We're over this discussion," he put the tray on the bedside table, "you'll be fine at Hogwarts, it's the safest place for you right now."

"Excuse me? There wasn't any discussion?" I ridiculed him, "I was just told about that, with no room for other options. God, it would've been easier if you'd just say that you hated me and you wanted me gone!"

"I don't hate you, my love."

Then why is this happening?

"Besides, I think long distance isn't that bad. I believe it could strengthen our bond."

What the fuck?! Is he possessed or something?

"What? Tell me you're kidding right now," I waited for his answer. He didn't say anything. "What is wrong with you? I thought we were on the same page? Did you see what happened to me yesterday? I could die! I-"

"You are not going to die and, Y/N, please do not threaten me with your life."

I knew it was wrong to try using my life to manipulate him into doing whatever I wanted. But believe me on this one, there was no other way. I was stuck with a stubborn boyfriend and he was okay with doing long distance when there was a way to prevent it!

"Also, the room is yours now. I have to do something and I think it's best that we sleep separately for now."

What in the hell? He was the one who begged me to sleep in the same bed yesterday.

"You are punishing me."

"I'm not, I'm just doing what's best for us." He didn't mean it.

"You're crazy, do you know that?" I tugged on his shirt. "Don't leave me like this, Draco."

"I love you," he said, his eyes full of longing. Who was I kidding? He also hated this.

"Sometimes I wish you weren't a Malfoy," I admitted. His expression fell, guilt flickering in his eyes, as though he were apologising in silent. "It would've been so much easier for us."

His hand reached for my head, caressing my hair gently with care. Draco didn't say a word with his mouth but his eyes did, his actions did. He lowered down and kissed me on the forehead, then my nose, both my cheeks, and my lips. His kisses were sweet and innocent, the complete opposite of the sadness hanging over us.

He pulled back once and gave me another kiss before whispering I love you again. My heart ached. I didn't have the chance to say I love you back. I just couldn't with this much pain in my heart. It wasn't even his fault yet he had to take the blame because of my ego.
