What am I doing? Dan asked himself as he ran. Why did I run away? I mean, to be fair, Phil...
And that was just it. Phil.
Gaaah. I don't know. He just... Understood. He didn't laugh in my face or look at me weird, he just clarified and moved on.
His feet pounded on the ground.
One, two.
No one's been like that before.
Three, four.
Except...

"Daaaaann? Are you still up there?" Sian called, her tone slightly annoyed.
Crap, she's going to make me come down and socialize!
"I know you're there! If you don't say anything, I'm coming up!"
Where do I hide?!
Dan quickly dove under the bed. Obvious. Well, maybe Sian wouldn't notice.
Creeeaak... The door sang as it opened. He heard footsteps.
"Dan?"
Silence.
"You know you don't fit under the bed, right?"
Oops.
Dan scooted out from under the frame. "Hi."
Sian looked down at him, her long silver hair hanging in her face. The locket around her neck sparkled.
Sian smiled. "What are you doing down there?! I thought we were going to see if we could finish up our homework now. It's due tomorrow, right?"
Dan closed his eyes. "Yeah. I'll do it eventually."
Sian leaned closer, until she was right in front of his face.
Her blue eyes stared back at Dan's.
She's so weird.
"Alright! I've decided!" Sian announced, suddenly standing up.
What?
"You need to have some fun! So today, a Sunday, we are going to make a Dan and Sian day! Objections?"
"Yeah okay, I'll just stay here and browse the internet-- gah!" Dan gasped as Sian hauled him up.
She slapped his forehead.
"Not today! I'm determined to get you out and having fun! It's no use if you just sit around and mope all day because Jace and Tess got together."
Dan cringed. I mean Jace isn't even gay... But it hurts.
Sian studied his face. "You still aren't talking to her?" Dan was silent. "C'mon, she's your best friend! You guys do everything together."
Dan shrugged. "We used too. But that was before she got with Jace."
I've said too much! What if Sian is upset because I like her brother?! Jeez, this is why I never open up, god dammit.
"So what?" Huh? "She's still your best friend, right? You should be there for her. I mean, that sarcastic girl is not my favorite person, but she's really good for Jace, and for you."
What is this feeling? Sian... Sian didn't push me away? Am I.... Relieved?
"Okay! Let's get going. Like I told you, today is our day!" Sian grabbed Dan's hand and dragged him out of the tree.
"W-Where are we going?!"
"You'll see when we get there!"
Sian started to run.
"Aw c'mon! You know I'm not athletic!" Dan complained.
Sian laughed. "Too bad! Running will take us there faster!"
One.
Two.
Three.
Four.Snap
