So I heard Awesomeness_qwerty  Is in love with Wolflet? This is for you  (Modern AU)

Ze'ev stared at his hands, not daring to look up at Scarlet, who didn't look like she was interest at all. Why had he asked her out again? Oh yeah. Her pretty brown eyes, fiery red hair, sassy personality, and adorable freckles. She had accepted, fortunately. But right now, she didn't seem amused by him at all.

Scarlet let out a low breath and tapped her fingers on the wine glass. "So, Ze'ev." She grinned. "Why'd you ask me out? We barely know each other."

"Exactly. I wanted to get to know you better." Z finally looked up. "Call me Z, if you want."

"Okay, Z." She took a sip of her wine. "Why don't we um...talk about ourselves?"

"Sure" Ze'ev knew Scarlet was regretting saying yes. He had to do something. And FAST before she stood up, grabbed her purse, and strode out. Would she do that?

With her status as most powerful woman in the food business (her grandma owned a food industry that supposedly grow their own food) Yes. She most likely would.

"Ze'ev?"

He looked up from his food and found Scarlet with a skeptical face. "I asked what your favorite food was."

"Oh." Ze'ev blinked. "That would be steak."

Scarlet nodded with her eyes big as if saying and?

"Um-"

"Well? You can't just eat raw steak with no sides! Beats? Corn? Tomatoes?"

"I hate tomatoes." Wolf cringed. He had never really tasted them, but just the thought of a red - what was in even? Fruit? Vegetable? Fredgetable? Whatever it was, the image made him sick.

Scarlet stared at him gaping. "Have you even tried tomatoes?"

"Well no"

"Waiter!" She yelled looking at her surroundings for one. This is it. She would ask for the check- which Ze'ev figured he was to pay - and she would leave.

When the waiter reached their table, he braced himself. But instead of asking for the check, she said, "For Lord's sake, give this man sliced tomatoes. Oh and while you're at it, bring us some bruschetta"
The waiter nodded and left.

"I bet you'll love 'em after you taste them. I sure do, well the ones I grow. But these are pretty good too."

Honestly, he didn't feel so good about this. But he really did like her, and he'd taste the red fruit..vegetable...fredgetable to get her.

"And your favorite food?" Ze'ev kept the conversation going.

"Bruschetta." she remarked and grinned. "Tomatoes are my favorite fruit if you're even going to ask."

"So it's a fruit?"

"It's always been a fruit."

"Not a vegetable?"

"Nope."

"Not even a," He murmured the next word. "fredgetable?"

"A what?" Scarlet leaned in when she didn't hear him.

"Nothing." Ze'ev took a sip of his wine.

"Did you just," Scarlet laughed. "say fredgetable?"

When he didn't answer, Scarlet continued. "Is that like, a fruit vegetable hybrid?"

Ze'ev was glad he didn't have to respond to that hence the waiter arrived with the bruschetta and the sliced tomatoes.

"Anything else?" said the waiter.
