The Dragon and the Princess (NatsuxLucy Fairy Tale)

Chapter 7

Lucy's POV

I run to my room and walk in. I change into a comfier gown and lie on the bed. In about twenty minutes,one of the guards checks my room to see if I'm here and sees me. "Princess, how long have you been here," he asks. "I don't know i went to the garden and fell asleep there. Then i came here maybe an hour ago, " i say to him. After sneaking out so much, I've developed great lying skills. "I told that guard to check the garden," i hear him mumble. "Lets go princess. The king was looking for you to tell you important news," he says holding the door open. "Alright," i say getting up and start walking to my fathers office. The guard knocks and says, "my king may we come in." I hear my father say yes and the guard holds the door open for me. I walk in and sit in one of the chairs. "Ah Lucy the guards finally found you, where was she," he asks the guard. "I found her in her room my king," he says bowing. "Her room hmm alright you may go," my father says. "Alright my king," he says. He bows once again and leaves. "The first place they checked was your room so how did you end up there?" my father asks writing on some papers. He doesn't even give any attention and he's my father. Usually id sneak out to get attention from him but it never works." I went to the garden and fell asleep," i say looking at my hands. "Alright, as long as your safe," he says not looking up. Ha, as if you care about my well being, you just wanna make sure the princess is okay so the kingdom will thrive I think. "Did you need to see me for something," i ask. "Yes i believe you met the prince of Edolas at the ball, Dan Straight," he says. "Yes i did. Is something the matter?" i ask. "He personally has given a request for a marriage proposal to you and you are going to accept," he says nonchalantly. "What? No i won't accept it," i say. "Its too late Lucy, you are getting married to Dan whether you like it or not. Its good to get an alliance with their kingdom the engagement is in 3 days and the marriage is in a week," he says. "No i wont marry him no matter what you say," i scream at him. I run out of his office to my room and suddenly I feel tears streaming my face. Oh Natsu where are you when i need you? I think.

By the next day the towns heard about the engagement and everyone is invited. All the citizens are excited for the engagement, most of them have never been to a royal engagement. I,however, haven't left my room since my father told me about it. I haven't ate anything or drank any water. All I've been doing is sitting in bed thinking about a certain boy. I wonder what Natsu's been thinking about the engagement. Probably that i played him and never loved him. I miss him, i really do. I haven't stopped thinking about him since i was with him two days ago. I was supposed to meet him at the meadow today but my father increased the security so i couldn't run away from the engagement. I feel tears stream down on my face and i bury my face into my pillow. I hear the door open and assume its a maid. "Go away," i say sniffling. I feel the bed dip next to me and hear a voice I've been dying to hear. "Luce don't cry," he says. I look up to see Natsu smiling at me wiping my tears away. "Natsu!" I say getting up and hugging him. "Aw Lucy I missed you too," he says hugging me back. I feel my heart pound and I remember the engagement. The tears start falling again and i hug Natsu harder. "I don't wanna get engaged to Dan Natsu. If anything, i wanna engage you," i blurt out. Once I realize what i said, i pull away and start rambling, "oh I'm sorry i didn't mean to say that. It kinda just came out and-"Suddenly i was shut up by a sweet kiss laid on my lips. Natsu pulls away and says "Well i would be honored to be engaged with you Luce but lets face it, I'm a dragon and you're a princess. No one would accept me as your lover, more or less the king to your queen." "Natsu, i don't care what others think. Theres no way I'm gonna marry Dan," i say looking into his eyes. "Luce," he says sighing, "I wanna be with you, i do. You're the only one that makes me feel like this but its better if you marry him. I'm sure you'll be happier with him than with me." "No!" i yell. "Its not happening, if you don't wanna be with me then fine but there's no way I'm marrying that stuck up prince. Ill run away if i have to," i say feeling more tears streaming down my face. "Lucy," he says, "I love you, i really do but there's no way." He gets up and kisses me on the forehead. "Goodbye Luce," he says and walks out the door. I start crying again, because i just lost the love of my life and I'm gonna have to get married to someone that isn't him.
