The Dragon and the Princess (NatsuxLucy Fairy Tale)

Chapter 2

Lucy's POV

Maybe this ball wont be so bad. Maybe ill find a real prince, not one with a title but one who loves me. I walk down the stairs in my regal gown and feels the eyes on me. The fake princes eyeing me, the jealous princesses rolling their eyes. The instant my foot hits the last step a prince steps to me and holds his hand out. "May i have this dance," he says. Ugh might as well get this over with i think. "Yes you may," i say. He walks me to the floor and we start to dance. As i listen to the music suddenly he says,"My name is Dan Straight, prince of Edolas." I frown but quickly cover it up with a smile. Edolas is a kingdom my father has been trying to get an alliance with for years. The song finally ends and i say i have to go and walk to a secret hallway only i know about. I got into the closest room and sat on the bed. I lie back and close my eyes.

Natsu's POV

"How are we gonna sneak in Natsu?, Happy asks curiously. I smirk and say, "we're gonna walk in." "But Natsu, its an invite only ball," Happy says. "Has anyone stopped a dragon before?" I say while smiling. Happy smiles too and we walk to the castle in our rented tuxes. Happy and I walk up to the castle and gawk at it. Yes we've seen it before but never this close and its all decorated for the ball. I start to walk up when guards make a barricade in front of me. "Stop where is your invitation," they say in monotone voices. I smirk and say, "I don't have one,now move or ill burn you to death,okay maybe not death but close to it." They widen their eyes and get into a fighting stance. They say "We cant let you in without an invitation," again with their monotone voices. Ugh i thought i wouldn't I have to do this. Oh well might as well get it over with. ROAR OF THE FIRE DRAGON! "Natsu you overdid it...again!" Happy says. I turn thinking he's mad but hes not, rather he's smiling. "Gotcha," he says. I laugh and say lets go in before they find the guards. I step over the guards and walk into the princess' ball. I walk in and instantly smell a familiar scent. I turn to tell Happy to find some food or something but he's gone, probably went to the food. I chuckled quietly and followed the scent. Suddenly i'm in a blocked off hallway well hidden. I stop in front of the door where the scents the strongest. I open the door to see her sleeping on the bed. I see her wearing a regal gown and widen my eyes. Only princesses wear regal gowns...i slowly started to back out the room. There's no way a princess would like me. I turn to walk out when i hear a voice that tells me to stop. I slowly turn getting ready for the looks of disgust but it never comes. "My names Lucy," she says and smiles. "That's the question you asked right?" she says cheerfully. This cant be happening i think. "Whats yours?" she asks. "Natsu," i say looking down. "That's a nice name Natsu but um.. how did you find me?" she asked curiously. "I followed your scent,"i say quietly. "Oh because you're a dragon right?" she says smiling. I look up to her face. "You're not disgusted with me?" i ask. "No why would i be?" she says. "Because I'm a dragon, because dragons seek wrath and evil," i say staring into her brown eyes. "Yes you may be a dragon but you're not one seeking wrath or evil, you're kind of a good dragon, i can tell by your eyes. Your mouth can lie but your eyes cant," she says looking away. "You can tell that by my eyes?" i ask not believing her. She looks into my eyes again and says "Yeah i can," Suddenly an alarm goes off and she widens her eyes. "Uh oh..." she says quietly.
