Chapter 8

Natsu's POV

I didn't want to do that, i love Lucy but she'd have a better life with that prince than she would've had with me. I fly home and and sit in my room. She made me feel alive and i lost her. "Natsu?" I hear Happy say. "Yeah Happy?" I say. "Why are you so sad?" he asks. "Heh. You noticed. Well long story short i fell in love with a girl I couldn't have and lost her," i say frowning. "You're so stupid Natsu," Happy says hitting me on the back on the head. "What?" I say annoyed. "So what if she was the princess, that doesn't mean that you guys cant be together. Sure you're a dragon but love conquers all," he says. "I should've known Carla would've told you," i say smiling. "Natsu, you're gonna regret it if she marries someone else. Its gonna kill you if you see your true love marry another man," he says. "She'll be happier that's all i care about," i say. "If that's what you think but trust me, shes not gonna be happier with a man she doesn't love," Happy says, "think about it." Then he gets up and walks out. I fall onto my bed and think about it. She'll be happier with him right?...

Lucy's POV

Todays the engagement and I'm getting fitted for my gown. I look terrible. Ive been crying nonstop and hate it. I try so hard to get over him but i cant. He makes my heart skip a beat when i see him and i miss him. Eventually my makeup is finished and I look in the mirror. I see a girl who doesn't even look like me,my dark circles are gone and the girl in the mirror is absolutely beautiful. "Thank you," i say to the maid. She bows and says, "Ill claim you when its time." Time for me to get engaged. I sit and think about Natsu. His bright pink hair and perfect smile. His outgoing personality, i smile and tears fall on my gown. "Oh," i say wiping my eyes. In a while the maid comes and gets me to go downstairs to the place where everyone awaits. I walk down and everyone stops their talking and watches as i come down. I walk to my father and give him a bitter smile. "Lucy, i know you don't want this now but soon you will thank me," he says. "No father, i will never thank you for this, you are forcing me to marry a man i don't love so you can have a better alliance with them," i say bitterly. "Lucy-" he starts to say but I interrupt him. "No don't , theres no point." I walk away and here the priest say that its time to begin the ceremony. I walk up to the altar and see Dan standing there. He smiles but its nothing like Natsu's perfect one. I stand with Dan as we get engaged and i wait for an interruption to stop this madness. I wait for Natsu to come and yell stop but it never happens. Dan puts the ring on my finger and the crowd cheers. The ceremony finished with out trouble and i was escorted back to my room. I sit on my bed and look at my ring. My vision starts to blur with tears as i wish it was Natsu that put this ring on me.
