The Dragon and the Princess (NatsuxLucy Fairy Tale)

Chapter 13

Lucy's POV
"Mom, you were the princess?!!" Nash and Luna say shocked. "Yeah i was," i say. "But why did you leave?" Nash asks confused. "I left so i could be with your dad, i was getting married to another prince and your dad here, broke in with his fire and picked me up and flew away but not before burning many guards and punching my fiancé," i say laughing. Luna and Nash break out in laughter and Natsu and i join in. Eventually we reach the castle and the guards are the same as ever. "Who goes there?" they say in their monotone voices. "We are here to see the king," i say picking Luna up. Her chocolate eyes stare into the guards and i swear his eyes softened. But only for a flicker of a second because they immediately turned emotionless and he said, "Who are you to want to meet the king?" he asks. "Go and tell him that his daughter, the princess of Fiore, is here to see him," i say smiling when i see blood draining from his face.

We are walking through the hallway with guards apologizing non stop for not recognizing me. I feel so nostalgic walking through these hallways, remembering my childhood. Sure it was lonely, but the times i had with my mother before she died were great memories. Tears start streaming down my face and Natsu stops to look at me. "Whats wrong Luce?" he asks worried. "Nothings wrong Natsu, im just remembering the memories i had with my mother," i say smiling. He smiles and wipes my tears away. "Im sure she's proud of you. I wish I could've met her," he says. "She would've loved you ," i say. "The king resides here," the guard says. I say, "i know, i lived here." "Oh of course, sorry princess please forgive me," he says bowing. "Oh please dont bow," i say smiling. I kneel to Nash's height and tell him to wait out here and watch Luna while Natsu and i go inside. "But Mom," he whines. I stare into his gold eyes and tell him that it wont be long. "Alright," he says pouting. I laugh and turn to the guard and ask him to watch the kids for a little bit. "Yes princess," he says bowing. I take Natsu's hand and knock on the door. "Come in," he says quietly. I walk in and sit on a chair across from his bed. "Lucy," he says weakly. "Hi Father," i say smiling. "I'm sorry Lucy, i should've listened to you. Im sorry i didn't realize that until you were gone," he says. "Don't apologize Father, its okay. I want you to meet someone, this is Natsu," i say. I get up and back away so Natsu can get into my fathers line of sight. "Hello King ," Natsu says bowing. "Oh you don't have to do that, you are after all married to my daughter," my father says smiling. After a couple minutes of bonding, i say that i have a surprise for you to my father. I get up and tell Natsu to entertain him until I'm back. "Oh dont worry he'll be fine," he says smiling. I smile and walk out to see the kids poking the guard. "What are you guys doing?" i ask laughing. "He wont talk so we were poking him," Luna says coming up to me and hugging me. I hug her back and kneel to her height. "Nash, come here. Ive got something to tell you guys," i say. He stops poking the guard and i tell the guard, "Thank you, you can go." He bows and leaves. "Alright guys, behind that door is my father, the king. Be respectful because he's very sick okay?" I ask. "Okay!" they say in unison. I open the door and let them in. Luna yells "Daddy!" and runs up to Natsu to hug him. "Oh hi princess," he says picking her up. I walk up to Natsu with Nash following me and i turn to my father. "Father this is my son Nash and this is my daughter Luna. Kids this is your grandpa Jude." I see tears start to come out of my fathers eyes as he says, "i have grandchildren?" in a questioning tone. "Yes father" i say. I pick Nash up and put him on the bed while Natsu puts Luna on the opposite side. I see Nash and Luna instantly connect to my dad and feel so happy. They were always so outgoing just like their father. I see Natsu grinning uncontrollably. "Whats up Natsu?" i ask. "Nothing, I'm just glad you guys are happy now," he says hugging me. I smile and hug back. We pull away and look at my father talking with the kids. He looks so happy. Im sure this is the happiest he's ever been ever since mother died.
