Chapter 16

Lucy's POV
I wake up and instantly gag. The smell in here is absolutely rancid. I open my eyes and look around. Ugh, where am i? Im in a dark room lit by a lone light bulb. Im tied up and gagged. I sigh and the door opens as if on cue. "Ah, you're awake Lucy," he says smiling. He's not wearing a mask so i can see his face. I look at his face and widen my eyes. Zeref?!?
*flashback*
Natsu and i are walking in the plaza shopping for little Nash. I look at my huge stomach almost ready to blow. Im 8 1/2 months pregnant with Nash. I tell him that I'm going in the back to see some more clothes and he nods and kisses me on the forehead. I smile and walk to the back. As I'm looking for clothes, a figure approaches me from behind. I see the shadow and turn to see a man with black hair approaching me. I back up and say stop but he just keeps walking towards me. There's something glinting in his hand but i don't know what it is. He starts saying gibberish like its his fault, not mine. "What," i say confused. He's close enough for me to make out whats in his hand....and its a knife! He raises it up to stab me and i shut my eyes in fear. I wait for the knife to strike me but it never comes. I peek open my eyes to see him on the floor blood pooling around himself. Then i see Natsu next to me telling me not to cry. I never even realized i had started to cry. I cry into his shirt and he hugs me but i feel the world spinning. I try to say something but i cant and i faint.
The next thing i know, I'm in the hospital and I'm laying in a bed. I wake up and my hand instinctively reaches for my stomach. I don't feel Nash's kicking and my heart drops. "Luce you awake?," I hear Natsu say. I turn towards him and see a baby in his arms. My hands raise up to my mouth and gasp. He smiles and gets up. He comes over to me and hands me the baby. "Meet Nash Dragneel Luce," he says. I laugh and say "Hi" in a baby voice. "Its our baby," i say, my voice cracking. "Yeah, its our baby," he says. Nash coos and i grin. But then I remember what happened. I frown and turn to Natsu. "What happened?" i ask. Natsu furrows his brows and says, "A man named Zeref attacked you. A man who used to be my best friend." I gasp and say, "What?!?" "He used to be the sweetest guy, that person you could always count on. Then his family was killed and he changed for the worse. He put me at fault because i was the reason he wasn't at the house when it happened. I made him come with me to the game and he believes that if he was home, he could've saved them," Natsu says looking sad. "Im so sorry Natsu," i say. "Don't worry about Luce, he wont be bothering us again. Just play with Nash. Ill be right back, I'm gonna go tell the doctor you're up," he says. "Okay," i say.
*end of flashback*
"Remember me Lucy? I tried to kill you and your baby but your boyfriend just had to come and ruin it. But this time i wont fail. Ill get you and you precious kids too. Maybe even the man himself," he says laughing evilly.
