Chapter 3

Lucy's POV

I got to go. That alarm only goes off for one reason,when the princess of Fiore is missing. "I gotta go," i say hurriedly and get up. I start to walk to walk out when a hand grabs my arm. I turn to see Natsu holding my arm and curiously staring into my eyes. "Whats the alarm mean?" he asks me. He doesn't know what it means....which means he doesn't know I'm the princess. I have to keep it that way. "You need to get out of here, i assume you broke your way into the ball so i don't want them to catch you," i say in the most convincing tone i have. He keeps staring into my eyes and says "You're lying. What does the alarm actually mean?" he says again. I sigh. I know he'll know if i lie again since i told him about how eyes can't lie. "It means that the princess of Fiore is missing," i say quietly. He stares into my eyes but doesn't change how he was before. "You're the princess of Fiore?" he asked. "Yes i am," i say looking down. He takes his finger and pushes my head up so I'm looking at him. Suddenly my heart starts racing. "Why are you looking away from me?" he asks sincerely. "Everyone i know treats me differently because I'm the princess. They fall in love with my title rather than me. When i met you, i thought i could finally have someone who doesn't know me as the princess of Fiore. I thought i met someone who could know me as Lucy Heartfilia," i say. He keeps his hand on my chin and i feel like my hearts gonna burst out of my chest. "Just because you're the princess doesn't mean I'm gonna change how i see you or think of you. You're not the princess of Fiore to me, you're Lucy Heartfilia to me," he says smiling. "Really?" i ask, not believing him. "Really swear on you Luce,"he says. Suddenly I'm pulled into a hug and get scared. Not scared of Natsu but scared of the fact that he's gonna feel my racing heart. He pulls away and grabs my hand. He takes it to his chest right on his heart. I feel his heart racing just as fast as mine. He puts his lips by my ear and whispers "You're not the only one feeling like this. Meet me at the meadow tomorrow at 8. I'm gonna show you the life of one of your citizens." I instantly get happier. I've always wanted to see what their life is like. He pulls away and kisses my hand. Then he walks toward the door and checks the hallway. "All right come on the coasts clear," he says. I walk towards him and do something i never do. I kiss him on the cheek and say "Thank you," then i walk out and go to find my father to tell him the princess isn't missing.

Natsu's POV

She kissed me. She kissed me.. It was on the cheek but still.. I sneak out of the castle pretty easily and hope Happy got out safe. I head back to the house with only one thought on my mind. Lucy. She's different. My heart races when I'm around her, that never happens to me. I reach home and see Happy pacing in the house. "Natsu!! You're okay!!" he yells running up to me. "I'm fine Happy you don't need to yell," i say laughing. "What took you so long, the alarm went off an hour ago," he asks. Um... I start to say. I'm not sure if I should tell him about Lucy, i trust him but shes the princess. I think I'll refrain from telling anyone about her unless I absolutely have to but i can can say this. "I met a girl," i say smiling. "A girl?!?" Happy says surprised. "Yes a girl now its late I'm going to sleep, I've gotta wake up early tomorrow," i say smiling. Lucy will be there, i know it. "But Natsu, i wanna know details," Happy whines. "I'm leaving Happy," i say walking away. "Youuu lllliiiikkkkee her!" I hear him say. I laugh and keep walking. I cant wait for tomorrow. I cant wait to see Lucy again, the girl that makes me feel like I actually have a future.
