Chapter one: Just Pray
A dysfunctional family is all that's left, pain, tears, and dreadful thoughts. All you can do is constantly ask yourself, “Do I really deserve this?" Well, you don't! I keep asking why, but no one answers. It's like having a thousand bullets being pelted into your heart. All you wanna do is throw your hands up in the air, and scream out to the heavens.
"Oh...dear God I surrender." Well that’s how I feel.
"Heather come down here now!" Says my mom. I could hear her voice starting to strain.
"Coming mom!" I yell but I doubt she heard me. So I run downstairs, and I am lost with words.
"I can't do this anymore Heather" says mom.
“The constant lying, you're setting a terrible example for your own sister!"
My little sister Nina just sits there at the table poking at her day old meat loaf We stand there arguing for hours, goose bumps start to form and the hairs on my skin start to rise in anger. Oh if only I could have told her but I..... Just can't it'll be too much for her to handle.
"Heather… Now I'm going to ask you again, where were you last night?"
I'm surprised, this is the first time her voice stayed calm, but yet subtle.
“I told you that I was at Ethan's house last night."
Ethan is the boy in my science class, he often walks funny and he has a little swagger added to him in each step. He isn't the typically sexy guys in
Vampire diaries, or probably in twilight, but damn he ain't that bad to look at either.
"Heather!" Again my mom killed the mood. "Get out!" She yells.
Wait, did I really hear what I think she said. "No you can't do this..... Where am I supposed to go I'm only sixteen?" I begged and pleaded like a helpless dog, but it was no use.
Great! My own mother, kicking me out!
"Your father and I have come to the decision that you will be living with him for the rest of the summer!"
"No but you can't—
"I'm sorry Heather but it's final" —
"Ugh.... I hate you!"
I ran upstairs as fast as I could. The tears coming down so fast, all I want to do is curl up in a ball, scream and shout out to the heavens. But a voice speaks to me, something I just can't explain. So I kneel down and just pray.
My heart is beating ten times its normal rate, this couldn't be right. My window blasts open, and it blows everything out of its way.
" I can’t' believe that it's you!" My throat starts to dry out, as I struggle to let something out.
