Chapter 30: No Time for Training

Instantly my body jerked.   Something held a tight grip on me , just before ends would ever meet. Surely I wasn’t dead yet, as a matter of fact I wiggled my feet hoping they would touch the surface of the ground.

 But still I felt nothing.

Something prevented me from falling. I could feel a sharp structure, slowly piercing my skin through my suit.  All I could feel  next  was a liquid of some sort, draining down from my upper body to my hands.

I opened my eyes. Regaining consciousness.

“OH God!” I cry out while seeing my hand.

I haven’t seen  it in a long time, and it was blood.

OW! I yelled.

I looked up only to see the ass of an eagle. It was desperately flapping its wings trying to prevent me from plummeting to the ground.

The eagle flapped its wings even harder,  as I feared inside that If it stopped.

 I would fall.

Maybe I could help it…

Only if I had the strength. I tried contemplating…

I was in too much shock.

Then suddenly I was jerked again. The claws of the eagle ripped out of my skin. More blood gushed out. I shrieked in excruciating pain.

The thought of having one claw holding on, it’s like your life held up only by a single thread. Wanting to go on, but not sure whether you should, or shouldn’t.

A second claw ripped out of my other shoulder.

And then…

I fall.

But I stop.

Not knowing why.

My body surrounded by a certain force field, which hovered around me in thin air. My pain starts rapidly decreasing in my shoulders; I could feel my body healing itself.

Blood gushing out, slowly formed circular blobs and were sucked back in to my body.

My skin closing up, like a series of threads being pulled by a seamstress.

 I felt no pain.

I was left with no scabs. Just perfect skin.

I was scared to touch the places, in which my wounds seemed visible seconds ago. Fearing that I’m only hallucinating,

or it’s just a stupid illusion.

But it wasn’t.

The hovered force field led me slowly down to the ground in one piece.

As the ‘bubble ‘ made contact with the ground it popped.

Small pieces of glitter bursting out into thin air.

I see one visible piece left on the ground, I slowly crouch down to touch it but it instantly disappears.

I get up and look around in awe.

But I didn’t forget about the eagle. It swooped down as if it wanted to see if I was okay, its wings flapped as it reached its landing. Placing its self, one meter in front of me.

A bright flash of light bursts from out of the creature, blinding my eyes.

“Damn it” I whisper softly.
