They were both in post-op for a week until they were claimed well enough to not need constant medical attention.

While they were in post-op, B.J. and Hawkeye had been working on a set of bunk beds to put in the Swamp for the two girls.

Jess had also told Dalli how she felt it was all her fault that Dalli had run away in the first place, but with a little help from B.J. and Hawkeye, Dalli assured her cousin that it wasn't her fault and that Dalli had just been being stubborn, which she was known for.

Though it took a while, eventually Dalli accepted that Hawkeye was her uncle and he was going to take care of her and Jess. And after Colonel Potter's threat, Winchester left both Jess and Dalli well alone, and his constant complaints against the other two officers, Captain's Pierce and Hunnicutt, seemed to recede dramatically as well.

What started out as two cousins barely escaping with their lives after the orphanage burned down ended up with a makeshift family in a M*A*S*H Compound of two girls just like best friends, a real uncle to take care of them, and many 'adopted' ones as well.
