Chapter 27

I looked at Jane. She thought about the offer, then slowly nodded her head.

"Okay. But if this is a trap, you'll drop where you stand," she said.

Ridge nodded, then pulled out a button. He placed it down next to the iron door and pushed on it. The door opened.

Jane reluctantly walked out, iron sword ready. I followed.

"There's more people," Jane told Ridge.

"Where?"

"Ben! Grace! Lora!" Jane called.

"Over here," Ben said.

Ridge followed his voice. We followed.

Ben was placed in a cell with another inmate, who was also looked about thirteen years old. Grace and Lora were together across the hall from Ben. Ridge opened both cells.

"Who's this?" Jane said, gesturing toward the inmate with Ben.

"This is Preston. He was captured by HSP as well. He said he served here for several months." Ben replied. "Who is this? Why is he letting us out?"

"This is Ridge. He said that he is a traitor to the HSP. He's letting us all out. At least, he might," Jane said, giving Ridge a glare.

Lora and Grace came out of their cell. "Wow, that was short," Grace commented.

"Follow me. I know where you guys can get your stuff back," Ridge said.

"Even mine?" Preston said.

"Maybe."

Ridge led us down the hallway, out into another hallway, passing empty and full dungeon cells. Up some stairs.  

Down another hallway. We came upon a room labeled "Armory".

Ridge opened the door and inside was a room with several chests lining the walls. Some where labeled with stuff like, "Battle of Diamond Hill" and "Skirmish 002335".

I opened one that said "Battle with HH" on it. Inside lay all my gear the HSP had stolen from me, as well as Ben's and Jane's and Lora's and Grace's gear.

Preston looked around the room until he found a chest labeled "Skirmish 003281" on it. He pulled a iron sword and a full set of iron armor.

After we all got our stuff packed ridge led us out the hall to freedom.
