I knew I couldn't find the information about "Herobrine" on my own, so I decided to spend the next few days in the library.
Placing a large stock of food in my inventory, I stuck a sword in my hot bar that hung around my waist, and, nervously, I make my way to the town library.
My father had always been the one to understand me. He and I were good friends. I stuck up for him and he me, at least, until now.
My town's library was a large building made of cobblestone. It reminded me of some kind of ancient castle. I loved it.
Inside were shelves upon shelves of books. Elegant paintings adorned the walls. There was a small corner for me to read in, so that's where I set up camp.
I knew there had to be something about this Herobrine somewhere in here, and I was right. It didn't take me long to find several books on the subject.
In my secluded corner, I began the first book.
Herobrine was a mythological stalker that would follow people secretly and kill them. It is debated whether or not he existed or was just a myth.
The first section was called, THE BLADE OF HEROBRINE
The Blade of Herobrine was the sword he used to kill things. It is rumored that it had dark and magical powers. Some have spent millions of gold to find this mystical sword. The wielder is to come to a complete knowledge of Minecraft and its doings.
My heart jolted and my body suddenly felt heavy. I had just read about the blade that sat in the corner of my inventory.
I also didn't know what "complete knowledge of Minecraft and its doings meant." I knew about Minecraft. We'd been taught in school. But I also had a feeling this didn't just mean learning about how to find a ghast or grow sugarcane.
And, of course, I was still curious about the golden stick. If it was important enough for my father to steal, then it had to mean something.
Searching through my stack of books, I found one titled, THE DARK BLAZE ROD.
I began to read.
. . .
The Dark Blaze Rod was a magical staff used by Herobrine's brother, Monobrine. In ancient times, Monobrine, a mortal man, was the ruler of a mighty kingdom.
He was very prosperous until he got too strong. Afraid for his power and high status, a threatened Herobrine slayed his brother and disbanded his people.
He took the Dark Blaze Rod with him into his underground lair. After studying it, he ordered for it to be taken to an Enderco bank account. The transport, however, was intercepted by a group suspected to be a band of Warriors lead by Notch himself.
When Herobrine heard of the interception, he immediately organized a group called the Herobrine Search Party, or the HSP.
The HSP consisted of highly trained individuals, a few of whom were believed to be possessed by Herobrine.
As far as studies show, they are still in search of the Dark Blaze Rod to this day.
I shut the book and took a deep breath. So that's what that stick was. It had belonged to a man named Monobrine. So how did it end up in the woods by my house?
Suddenly, a thought struck me. The thought was terrible, and even worse, probable.
My father must have been a member of the HSP.
