The whole vehicle started moving. It gave a soft hum as it operated. It slowly inches it's way to the exit, gaining speed. We flew out into the sky. As I looked behind us, I could see the houses and streets get smaller and smaller. It felt weird to be soaring through the air, invisible, and unable to feel the wind against your face. Not that that was a bad thing; it probably would've ripped my face clean off.
"You'll get used to it," Jane told me. I couldn't see her or Ben.
I 'sat' in silence for a while, taking in the view. We were about a thousand feet above the clouds. I've only been this high in an airplane, and that was very rare.
Well, I couldn't do much more than wait. Ben has told me that the ride was only about ten miles long.
Then we started to descend. Once we went through the clouds I could see a forest. Stretched out as far as I could see. I could also see a dust cloud about a half a mile away. That must be the HSP.
