"Look out!" Ben called. A tree nearby was starting to sway, and right under it, Ridge sat.

Ridge looked up. The tree started to fall toward him. My heart skipped a beat as it came crashing down. Ridge had time to stand up, but not enough time to run. The trunk hit his shin, slid down, and deposited its full weight on his ankle. He fell down in pain.

"Ridge! You all right?" Lora called. We all rushed to his side.

"Ugg," was all he could manage. Blood trickled down his pant leg.

"Speak!" Ben said.

Wincing, Ridge sat up. "Ankle... Broken..."

Ben took Ridge in his arms and placed him down on some leaves, elevating his leg on a rock.

Lora ran over. She took his shoe off, but not without much groaning from Ridge. His shin had a long, nasty cut 8 inches long. Blood oozed all over it.

Jane got a napkin from somewhere and started wiping up blood. Grace and I were searching for a wooden splint.

"It's- it's fine." Ridge stuttered.

"No, it isn't." Ben said. Ridge's ankle was strait, but a ugly purple blue red orange yellow green pink bruise had formed.

Grace and I returned, grace holding sticks and a vine, me holding two longer stickers for crutches. Grace splinted the wound.

After a while, Ridge was able to walk around with my crutches.

"Guys... Just go on w-with out m-me." He said.

"No! We need you!" Jane said.
