What did we do?
What would you do?
We prepared for battle of course.
I managed to contact Mitch and Jerome with a transmitter my dad made. I had gotten it from my house the day before.
We all knew that the Baccas wouldn't get there in time before the attack, so we had to hold our own for the beginning.
Our toughest armor was what we took.
Lora and Grace had hardly healed, but they took up their bows, ready to fight. I had decided that I preferred melee battle, so I chose a special sword of mine. The sword of Herobrine.
Ben and Ridge put themselves in these giant tanks, taking either Lora or Grace with them. I wanted to use one, bud sadly there were only two. I cheered up a bit when Jane told me that I would be by her as she lead the sneak attack to Herobrine. "Strike the heart," she said.
We instructed the baccas to split up and flank the enemy so thy could surround them. And after that it was time.
Ben and Ridge were the first to go out, leading the way in their tanks so that they could defend HQ.
Preston, Jane and I sneaked out in between them for a while until the tanks had to stop by the front lines.
Crossfire was all around us and we had to evade it.
Preston and I stood around Jane, since she was the HH's leader. If we had to lose someone, it wasn't going to be her.
Most of the iron golems we passed didn't attack us. I guess they were intent on destroying our HQ. It was a good thing that we had Ben, Ridge, Lora, and Grace defending that. We didn't try to eliminate the golems. Jane said that our main goal was to kill Herobrine.
Unfortunately, the soldiers noticed us. We were forced to fight them. Most of them were armed with swords of low power and weren't trained very well.
Even so, every time time one came near me, I saw my death depicted in a different way.
The first time they came at us (when we hit their lines) I got to finally use Herobrine's sword. When I hacked at the first of them, a feeling of power coursed through my arm. Fire that I could swear was lightning sliced out where the enemy was hit. They died in one shot.
"Gregor!" Jane yelled out in disbelief. "You lead the way!"
I moved in front, and it was me that kept us alive to the Herobrine's convoy.
At one point, when I was sparring a soldier, I yelled out, "What if Herobrine's controlling them? What if they're innocent?"
"Then put them out of their misery!" Jane yelled back.
Preston snickered.
"Do you even know the way to Herobrine?" I asked, dodging an arrow.
"Yeah, of course," Jane replied before kicking a soldier in the chest. "It's respectful for him to ride in the center of the largest convoy. And that's where we're headed."
After we "put a few soldiers out of their misery" we continued, the larger convoys getting closer.
Suddenly, a loud whooping noise filled the battlefield.
The baccas had arrived.
The soldiers around us diverted their attention to the newcomers. We were home free.
I watched as familiar furry creature began battling our enemies and we sprinted for the center convoy, 20 blocks ahead of us.
We arrived and watched the 15 block tall structure move towards us. We sheathed our swords on our backs. Not knowing exactly what to do, we jumped onto the side of the convoy. I felt the rumble of it under my body as I held on tightly with all my strength. A cruel laugh came from deep within the convoy. Jane was right. Herobrine is here.
I looked down at the moving ground below us.
I could spy Mitch running by. I stupidly called out to him and asked, "Why are you doing this?"
He gave me an incredulous look. "Are you kidding? I would never turn down an invitation to help save the world! Now go get 'em, biggums!" He continued along, sword raised and a grin on his face, to his next adventure.
I looked back to Preston and Jane. "Well how to we get in?"
"The top?" Jane suggested.
We started to climb. I don't know if you've ever scaled the side of a gamma convoy, and if you have, you can relate to me. But if you haven't, you cannot.
My arms burned with pain as I climbed, not to mention the fear that an archer or another long ranged fighter would see us. I could easily imagine one saying, "Oh look! Some people trying to kill our leader! Better fix that." Pew.
My thoughts were whipped from me by a hissing noise. Spiders?
From the woods, I could see hundreds of spiders crawling to join the fight, and not on our side.
I heard a yelp. Over on my right, past Preston, a spider was climbing the convoy and attacking Jane.
It was Xiro.
A stab of horror went through my heart. I'll admit it, I didn't know what to do.
Jane screamed as she was pulled down the convoy by her friend. She tried to reach the sword on her back, but couldn't.
I had never felt so helpless in my life.
Preston reached out his hand, but cried out in pain as it was shot by an arrow.
"Preston!" I yelled, starting to feel tears well in my eyes. "What do you want me to do?" I could hardly see Jane fall all the way off the convoy. I could hardly see her get swarmed by spiders. I could hardly see Xiro deliver the killing bite.
I was crying now. This couldn't be happening. We couldn't be losing.
Preston was barely able to hold on with one hand. I saw him slipping.
"No!" I wailed. "I'm not letting you go too!"
"Gregor," he coughed. "It was always you. And if you're going to do it, do it for Jane." He fell and I felt the convoy roll over his body.
I didn't want to go on. It would just be easier to fall down and die too, but I had to do it for Preston. For Jane.
I kept climbing and hoped that archer didn't come back for more.
After a couple more agonizing minutes, I reached the top. I stood up and surveyed the battle.
We were losing by a long shot. The baccas were being swamped, but Ben and Ridge's tanks seemed to be pretty effective.
It was all up to me.
On top of the convoy, there was a small hole. Like 1 block small.
1 block to save the world.
I dropped in.

And sorry about the deaths.
But not really. - Jane
