"How about a one on one?" My father growled. "Just in case you underestimate my new power."

I felt a tight knot in my gut. How could I fight my own father?

"Nice try, dimwit!" Jane yelled, "but there are 5 more of us!"

"Don't forget me," Xiro's silky voice said.

"And me," the wither added.

"Do you really think you could defeat all of us?!" Ben yelled courageously.

"Foolish boy! Foolish girl!" My father sneered. "I said I want to fight my son alone!"

"Well we're not going to let that happen!" Lora yelled.

"And don't forget," Ben said, "that we can tell Herobrine that you broke off from him. That you stole the Dark Blaze Rod."

"You think he doesn't already know that?!" My father roared. "Why would he listen to you? Puny. Little. Kids." He lifted the blaze rod high in the air. His horse reared up, making the blaze rod pointed straight at my heart.

I breathed deeply. I was to far away to be helped. No one could save me now.

Time seemed to slow down. So this is how I would die. At my father's hand. I hoped I'd done enough for the world.

And then, "FROM THE TREES!!!" A roar, bellowed from deep within the forest.

My father twisted around, shocked. The horse, spooked, began to buck.

A furry brown shape leaped from a tree and jumped onto my father.

"You monster!" It screamed. The clearing was suddenly full of similar creatures, all made of brown fur, but dressed in a strange assortment of clothing.

The one on top of my father rose a weapon. An axe.

"No!" I yelled.

The animal turned to me, his black eyes bearing deep into my soul. "Do you know who this man is?"

"Yes, he's my father. Don't hurt him. Just tie him up or something."

The creature didn't like the idea of not killing, but it consented before binding my father in knots and throwing him to the ground.

It slapped the horse away and the steed gladly galloped into the forest.

"Who are you guys?" Grace asked the creatures in the clearing.

A young man stepped out from among them. He words a checkered red hoodie and had light brown hair.

He stood next to the animal who'd tied up my father.

He spoke. "My name is Mitch. This is my friend Jerome. And these are the baccas of the forest."
