Claire's POV
I woke up on a very uncomfortable couch.
"Wha-"
"Hey Claire," Owen chuckled. "You passed out after I proposed," he smiled again.
"Tha-that wasn't a dream? That actually happened?!"
"Mhmm," he chuckled. My face went white. I had been proposed to twice in a day. My lip started whimpering- what was I going to do? And before I knew it, tears were pouring from my blue eyes. "Hey, hey. What's wrong?" Owen asked, wrapping his arms around me, while my head rested on his shoulder.
"I- I don't know what to do," I sobbed. Owen rubbed my back. "Owen I love you, I just don't know what to do!"
"I know, Claire. And I love you too. I know it's hard- take as much time as you need."
His words were comforting. I didn't respond to him, so it was silence. But not and awkward silence. I listening to his heartbeat, which somehow calmed me. We stayed like that for awhile- not talking, just taking in the moment.
"Owen?" I murmured into his shoulder.
"Yeah?" he asked.
"I'm sorry for leaving. I'm sorry for dating Adam. I'm sorry for everything."
"Claire, you have nothing to apologize for. Kate, my daughter, was," he paused, "crazy. She tried to kill you, Claire. I'm the one who should be saying sorry."
I smiled.
"Yes," I whispered so he could barely hear me.
"Yes to what?" Owen asked, utterly confused.
"I want to marry you, Owen. I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you!"
Owen grinned and he pulled out a black box from his pocket.
"If we're gonna do this, we're gonna do it right," he knelt down and I smiled widely. "Claire Elizabeth Dearing, will you be my one and only forever?"
I nodded my head furiously and he slipped the ring on my finger. I kissed him almost immediately after he put it on.
"I love you, Owen."
"I love you more, future Mrs.Grady."
