Timmy POV...
I took Catherine to the new 'Steak N' Shake' in the valley for our first ever date. I have to say I am nervous. She went home to change and I was waiting here for her.
"Timmy?" I hear a soft voice say. I look up and see a girl and I have no idea who she is. This girl had brown hair in very neat waves and wore a light blue dress with big light blue buttons and a white sweater with light blue heels. I couldn't stop gaping. I felt dumb in my orange t-shirt, jeans, and converse.
She starts to frown. "Do I look okay? My mom made me wear this. I didn't want to but,"
"It's awesome. I'm just surprised your the same girl who wears the converse, jeans, and tee shirts we all see." I say, looking into her dark, but soft brown eyes.
Her cheeks have a touch of blush in them. She looks away and softly, says, "Yah, I'm still the Sandlot boys, Cat."
I shake my head and ask her if she wants to sit down. A waitress comes and asks, very nicely, "What can I start you guys off with tonight?"
I look at Cat and she tells the waitress, "A chocolate malt please?"
The lady writes it down and looks at me, "And what for you sir?"
"The same please." I say. She writes it down and takes our menus.
Catherine puts her handbag down and takes off her sweater and puts it behind her chair. I can't help but smile as I watch this girl who has eight boys crazy and I have her for a week. "I like your dress, Cat. It's a pretty color on you." I say, touching her right hand gently.
She blushes and replies with a simple, "thanks."
"Your welcome."
With that, our malts arrive. "Enjoy." The waitress says after setting our malts on the table.
"Thank you." Catherine says, sweetly.
I take a sip of the rich chocolate malt. I watch Catherine and know that I just love her even more.
We sit in silence for what seems forever then, I break it. "So, ah, Small,er, Scotty is surprisingly good at baseball."
"Yah, he isn't too bad."
The waitress comes back with our check and we thank her. She leaves and goes to wait on another table. I finish the drink and wait for Cat to finish hers.
Once she does, I go to pay the bill but she beats me to the cashier and pays.
"$6.97, please."
She gives him a $10 dollar bill and says, "Keep the change."
We leave Steak n' Shake and Catherine looks scared all of a sudden. "What's wrong, Cat?"
"Look." I look in the direction she is pointing at and see the red and white letterman's jackets coming speeding towards us on their bikes.
"Run, Cat. Get the boys and bring them here." I say, sternly to Catherine.
"No, I'm not leaving you here alone with them." She says, scared but disgusted.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't our favorite couple." Phillips hisses.
"Go now!" Timmy yells at me and I take off towards the sandlot.
