Benny's POV...
Once I got up there I knew what needed to be done. Looking at all of them down there, I knew I had to get the ball back.
The words Babe Ruth told me last night echo through my head.
" Heroes get remembered, but legends never die. Follow your heart, kid and you'll never go wrong.' I take one last look at them and jump over the fence.
Once I get over there I look around. Broken toys lay everywhere. Baby dolls missing their limbs, Airplanes without wings. I then hear something moving. I look up and see the thing that has tormented kids for years.
The beast stares at me, almost like he is taunting me. I look from the dog to the ball and decide to move.
I run to the ball and the dog lunges at me. I slide, grabbing the ball. I then get back up and run to the gate. I hear a snap not registering what has broken. I climb the gate and land on the ground. Everyone comes and cheers, yelling. I look up and what I see freaks me out.
I see the dog climbing over the fence. I take off running as fast as I can knowing the dog isn't to far behind me.
I just keep running across town like there is no tomorrow. I run through an alley and begin to knock garbage cans over, trying to slow the Beast down. He stays right behind me. The then run into the cinema. "Hey you just can't-..." The guy sweeping up the lobby begins but I just run past him.
I keep running and see a screen so I slide under it and people get startled. I continue running to the other side of the theater where the exit is when I hear the screen tear and people scream. 'He is still right behind me?!?!'
I just keep running. I see where they are having the 4th of July picnic for the town and I see he is behind me. I jump onto the table and just run across it. Then I see where they are carrying a cake to the table. I run past them and the beast goes between them. "Hey, hey! Kids!" I hear them yell. They get the cake set on the table and sit down right when the beast jumps off the table. The cake goes flying in the air and all over the Caterers.
I then make a bee line for the pool and run through the area. "Mommy, Mommy! Look a doggie!" A little boy, says tugging at his mom. I run past them. "Ooh, A big doggie!"
I hear girls scream and lifeguards yelling. I get to the back side and see everyone. "Look out! Sandlot, Sandlot, Sandlot!"
I run past and head to the Sandlot.
