Catherine's point of view...
It was the 54th day of summer. And Benny was up to bat. I was in the outfield and we put DuNenze on the pitchers field. We all waited. He wound up and let go of the ball. It went slowly threw the air and 'crack'. Benny's bat came in contact with it and the ball went sailing through the air. Scotty caught the ball but then something falls to the ground. We all go run to see what it was.
"Oh geez." Ham says.
"Wow!" I say in awe.
"Sorry guys." Benny says.
"Benny man. Why are you sorry?" Squints asks.
"That was the coolest thing I have ever seen." I say.
"I don't think anybody has ever blew the guts of a baseball out before." DeNenze says.
"Well know we can't play. I ruined the day for us." Benny says, sadly.
"I have one." Scotty says.
"Go get it." The boys yell.
"Scotty what are you doing? We don't have a ball." I say.
"Just trust me." He says and leaves.
What is he doing?
