~~~~~~Time Lapse~~~~~~
"So, Catherine...." Timmy says, as everyone turns to look at her. She starts to squirm against her LA Dodgers blanket on her bed. Benny smirks down at her and engulfs her in a warm embrace, shuffling the blanket.
"Um... Well, I have my top five." She pulls out a sheet of her white typing paper that is burnt on edges.
"But before I read it, I just want to stay I want to stay friends with all of you and you have to let me play ball with you guys."
"What if we don't?" Scotty asks.
"Well then, Scotty, I won't come back to the Sandlot again, understood?"
Catherine looks at all of the guys and
they solemnly nod in agreement.
"Okay."
"Now tell us your top five, Cat!" Yah-Yah cries.
The boys create a tight circle around Catherine and she takes a deep breath and looks down at the boys, who have hopeful eyes.
She breaths out and begins.
"Number Five.., Alan Thistle McCleannan"
He looks up and smiles.
"Number Four..., Kendal Marcus DuNunez"
"Number Three..., Hamilton Kandle Porter"
"Number Two..., Benjamin Franklin Rodrigues"
"And lastly,..., uh,"
She starts to tear up and the boys just look at her.
"And, ah, um,"
"Who is it Cat?" Bertram asks.
"It's..., oh I can't do this anymore! This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of and, and, and I have to go and I'm never coming back again, EVER!"
Catherine runs out of her room and and everyone jumps up. Bertram runs out of the room and follows Catherine. "Cat, wait?"
She rides off on her bike and has a bat and ball in her hand. Bertram sighs and goes back inside. Everyone disperses and Smalls leaves the room. Everyone gets ready to go to the sandlot and I'm about to head out to when Smalls stops me.
"Hey, Bertram. Cat had this on her desk and it had your name on it. I found another and it said she's running away."
I snatch the note and read it quickly.
"Smalls, we have to get to
the Sandlot quickly before she does the most stupidest thing ever."
"Well, then. Let's go."
