18 years later...
Scotty Smalls Point of View...
After Benny took on the beast he became a legend. And Babe Ruth was right Legends never die. Benny and Maggie ended up breaking up after sophomore year and she moved shortly after.
Bertram and Cat broke up. He then got really into the 70s and no one saw him again. Some believe he moved to Texas to be with relatives but no one really knows for sure. We played baseball every summer and once a member leaves we didn't replace them. The game never ended.
Yeah-yeah's parents ended up shipping him off to military school and was in the army. After the army, he invented bungee jumping (we all know why) and ended up marrying Lila. They have one boy named Alan Jr. and a little girl on the way.
Timmy became a architect and Tommy a contractor. They build small playground equipment and prefabricated tree houses. They then invented mini-malls and are now multimillionaires.
Squints grew up and eventually married Wendy Peffercorn. We were all in the wedding. They have ten kids which they named after all of us. They bought the drugstore in town and still own it to this day.
Ham became a professional wrestler and goes by the name now as The Great Hambino.
DeNunez played triple A baseball but never made it to the big leagues. He now is married and owns a store. He also coaches his sons little league baseball team called the heaters.
Hercules lived to be 124 in doggy years.
Catherine and I were the last to move away.
I know when we moved away the Sandlot was still there.
Catherine ended up leading some Women marches for voting rights and working as the first woman to own her own sportscasting company called the Sandlot.
Benny was forever known in town as Benny "the Jet" Rodriguez after he pickled the beast. He went on to play pro baseball for the Los Angeles Dodgers. His nickname stuck for the rest of his life.
Benny and Catherine met again and this time they would stay together. Hey have been married for 4 years now and are expecting their first child, a girl in April.
Now I became the official announcer for the Los Angeles Dodgers. I married Lynzie and we have a boy, Benny and a girl Keegen.
"Now pitch running for the Los Angeles Dodgers is Benny "the Jet" Rodriguez! It's the clutch situation of the season for the Dodgers. They say the Jet has lost a step or two but I wouldn't be surprised to see some fireworks here. TheJet is taking the lead. And there he goes! He's stealing home! I don't believe it!" The crowd roars with excitement.
"He is stealing home! He is stealing home and they don't see him! The pitch! He's hit the dirt!"  I hold my breath. "And he's safe! Safe!Safe!"
        "Oh my gosh!"
I go and high five everyone in the announcers booth and hug my sister. Guards come up to the announcers box to take Catherine down to the field.
"I don't believe it the Jet stole home! The Jet stole home!"
Everyone from the dugout runs to hug Benny. Catherine comes up and leaps in his arms. Benny looks up to the announcers box and gives a thumbs up. I return it.
I then look over at the picture hanging on the wall of all of us. And think about the day we all met.

The End.
