Chapter 5- The Talk At Night

The Lab Rats and Leo as well as Maria had all done their school work for the evening and went home after the bell went off.
" well, this is finally the end of a very tiring day" said Bree as she took her bag and swung it over her shoulders. The others nodded in agreement and they all went home as Mr Davenport picked them up from school.

Once they get home, Maria and Chase went down to the lab and studied. Bree had went upstairs and went on her phone to chat with her friends. Whereas Adam and Leo were still having an argument about whether or not they have managed to get a girl to ask them out to the dance.
" Adam for the last time, I don't think Linda really cared about your Incredible Edibles" said Leo as he poured milk into a cup.
" actually she was very interested thank you very much. And Leo, has Janelle asked you out yet?" Said Adam as he took Leo's milk before Leo had time to take it.

However, before Leo had time to get mad at Adam, Mr Davenport came in from the elevator that leads to the lab who was followed by Chase and Maria. Bree had then got an intellect that told her she must come down urgently.   
" what's the matter Mr Davenport?" Asked Bree as she had just rushed down the stairs to where the others were.
" well it its that easy to say... Okay, it is that easy to say...! I just finished building the new model of the Proton Fusion... Isn't that exciting?" He said squealing.

Bree and Leo rolled their eyes and Adam just didn't understand the whole 'Proton Fusion' thing.
" what is it again?" Asked Adam looking very confused indeed.
" Adam...It's... You know what never mind" said Chase as he also rolled his eyes.
" now where were we?... Ah, the Proton Fusion... Okay well basically..."
But before Donald could finish his sentence, there was a knock at the door.
" who could that be?" Asked Donald.
"Maybe it a monkey dancing on a unicycle wearing a hat" said Adam as he started to drink of the milk that Leo poured. Everyone one else just started blankly at Adam apart from Maria, who found anything that Adam said hilariously funny.  

As Donald got to the door, he opened it as swiftly as he could and once the door was open they could all clearly see who it was. It was Douglas at the front entrance of their house.
" hello Donald. Good to see me again?" He said as he walked in to the house.
" hey look, it's Uncle evil Daddy"
" Adam,  don't need to call me that now... I'm part of the good side now... Even though I still have a passion for androids and evil... And...Androids.. I'm a changed man" said Douglas. 

Donald rolled his eyes. 
" Yeah what do you want now Douglas?" Asked Donald who was getting impatient with his 'evil' brother'. 
" well I'm here to talk to... Maria... In private.. Please would you come with me.. I need to talk to you, it's urgent" said Douglas who pointed out.

Maria didn't like to shocked by Douglas' certainty. She had expected that he need to speak to him anyway. She had also been meaning to speak to him also.
" yeah, sure. No worries..." Replied Maria and she gave a sweet smile and kissed Chase slightly on the cheek and left with Douglas. He greeted her with a smile and said before they left,
" we won't be long... I'll bring her back"
" you better hope so" said Donald, who went back to talking to the others.

Once they were out the door, Maria turned so that her back was facing the door.
" hey"
" hey.." Said Douglas, who was looking over his shoulders constantly and back again. This made Maria get a strange feeling.
" what the matter? Is there something__" Maria was cut off by Douglas.
" shhhh... Be quite. Be careful what you say... They might be listening"
" who's listen?" Said Maria in a hush whisper.

Douglas turned back again and then he looked into her eyes. He gripped her my her shoulders and said
" The Game Changers... They wait for no one... They after someone"
Maria looked at him confused. Her puzzled look made her eyebrows raised, and when she saw the look in his face, his shoulders relaxed and with a his normal tone he reposed with " what's that for?"
" nothing... I'm just thinking how much of a fool do you really think I am. I know your lying"
" no I'm not" said Douglas with a childish tone.
" yes you are"
" no I'm not... You are" said Douglas with a childish tone once again. Maria rolled her eyes and quickly replied before he could even speak.
" oh stop it, you know you'll never win. I've known you since you rescued me. And I know far too will that when you start lying you start taping your feet"

This left Douglas to sigh and reply with
" fine, but what I said about the Game Changers are not made up. They are every real. And they're after someone"
Once again Maria looked into his eyes and folded her arms.
" oh my... Just tell who they are after? Please, this whole 'Game Changers' thing is making me feel more uncomfortable then the time you decided to use my brush for your hair then giving it back to me with masses of hair gel over it"

Douglas gripped her right arm, as Maria dropped it beside her.
" they're after you..."
And then suddenly they hear a sound coming from the grounds on the other side of the street. Maria's eyes wide open and she wanted to scream, but before she had the time to progress a scream, Douglas covered her mouth with his hands. Maria took a deep breath and he slowly to his hand away. With this, Douglas gripped tighter on Maria's right arm and they rushed back into the house.

When they got back inside, the other family members wanted to ask what happened? Why took them so long?. But Maria was still in shock. She just sat down on the sofa and was just shaken.
" what did you do now?" Said Donald who sat next to Maria and wrapped his arms around his shoulders.
" hey, I did nothing"
" yeah right.. As if.. Well all know that_" said Donald as he rubbed her back to comfort her. But he was cut off by Maria who, in her voice, felt shaken.
" he's right... He did nothing... It's just that he told me about how I'm being followed"
" followed by who?" Asked Chase who folded his arms. Maria looked at him and soon got off the sofa and went and hugged Chase.
" Game Changers"
And she said that so aloud loud what the Davenports eyes widen and a pain in their stomach. They knew who were The Game Changers. They knew that they will get what they want. And they never rest until they found their target and destroy it.
