Chapter 4- You and Me

In the fallowing morning, Maria was the first one to be awake, and she got out of her capsule, she went to the kitchen for breakfast. So she took out the cereal box and poured some in a bowl. She then pour some milk and began eating. Once everyone else woke up, Maria was already dressed and packed for school.

" oh hey, wow you're already dressed," said Chase who was still getting breakfast. He also went for the cereal box and poured some in a bowl as well as the milk. Adam, Bree, and Leo had also gotten up and went to eat breakfast. Both Bree, Adam and Leo all yawned in unison. Adam was so tired that he didn't see Chase sitting on the chair that he pushed him off.

Chase groaned in pain as he landed on the floor.
" Adam!?.... What was  that for?"
" sorry, Chasey. Didn't see you there"
" don't call me that" Said Chase as Adam helped him up. Maria was still laughing from Adam pushing Chase of his chair.

" shut up.." Said Chase sarcastically as he smiled and kissed her on the cheek. So once they were all dressed and ready for school, Mr Davenport gave them all hugs ( even Maria) and said
" keep safe and if you run into any trouble then contact me. Okay Bye"

And they all smiled and went out of the house and made their way to school. As they got there Perry was in the middle of the main hall with a megaphone.
" THE DANCE IS IN TWO WEEKS TIME... BETTER HURRY ALL THE HOTSHOTS WILL BE TAKEN...BUT I'M STILL FREE"
Once she finished, Adam, Bree, Chase and Leo all shudder in disgust.
" that is the worst thing she ever said" called Leo as he almost vomited on the school floor.

All of them then just went and chatted for a while before Adam decide to get Linda Longhorn to ask him to the Dance. Whereas Leo went to find Janelle.
" well, I'm off... I'm still trying to get Ethan to take me to the Dance. Okay I'll leave you guys alone" said Bree as she walked away from Chase and Maria.

Chase and Maria smiled and both of them had a chance to be alone... For once.
" hey"
" hey"
" so, you and I are going to that Dance or are we just going to talk about the new proton fusion that Mr Davenport keeps talking about," said Chase as he grabbed Maria's hands with his and pulled her forward and leaned in for a kiss.

Maria laughed and simply said
" or... We can see how Adam's getting on and see if we can help your brother out"
And so Chase rolled his eyes and just nodded in agreement. As with this, Maria smiled and pulled Chase in the direction where Adam was.

Adam was talking to Linda about his collection of the things he has ever eaten.
" so, I have eaten mostly anything"
" anything," said Linda as she leaned on her locker.
" yes, anything... I can do it in order of A to Z... There had been... Um... Apples, um..."
But before, Adam could say another word, Linda turned her head slightly and saw Maria and Chase by the other lockers whispering and giggling about something. She couldn't make out what they were talking about.

" Hey, is your brother and his girlfriend laughing at us?" She asked as she turned her focus back on Adam.
" oh... Which one?... Because one is short and isn't as strong as me... And the other one is short and is easy to toss" he said smiling.

Linda rolled her eyes and said
" Chase... I was talking about Chase... Why do you think Chase and his girlfriend laughing at us?"
And as she said this, she turned Adam around and made him face the couple.

Adam still didn't understand.
" aww, look it's Chase and Maria"
Linda was now getting mad so she stormed off towards Chase and Maria and went and demanded answers.
" Hey... Lovebirds... What's so funny?"
Chase and Maria looked at Linda in the eyes. Chase spoke first.
" Hey Linda, what brings you here... Have you asked someone out to the Dance yet?"
" ha ha, very funny short stack.! I want proper answers. I want to know why were you two laughing at me and Adam?"

Chase and Maria shrugged their shoulders but Maria spoke next.
" hey, now we weren't laughing at you guys... We were laughing because Chase said something really funny in my ear about Adam... So relax Linda... It's no big deal"

But this only filled Linda with anger.
" no big deal! No big deal!
What are you mistaking me for? For some kind of fool! So don't lie to me. I will get to the bottom of this. Even if it's the last thing I do!"
And even though it was for only a millisecond, Maria thought that Linda's eyes turned blue.

But she shook that thought from her mind and focus more on Chase.
" what was that about?" Asked Chase as he wrapped his arms around Maria's waist.
" I don't know... But that isn't good news"
And then Adman arrived beside them.
" what was that about?" Adam said.
" that's what I said," said Chase.
" Okay... Now I'm just confused"
" you're always confused Adam," said Chase.
" Okay... Does anyone need a hug? Because I know you want to" said Adam in his childish manner.
" NO!" Said Maria and Chase together.

This made Adam feel sad and alone. And this made them feel guilty. So before Adam could walk away, Maria grabbed Adam's arm and pulled him into a hug. Chase soon joined in. They had stopped hugging and they began to smile again.
" Thanks for the hug. I really appreciate it" said Adam before walking off once more.

As Adam left, Maria and Chase were all alone once more.
" hey"
"hey"
They both laughed awkwardly.
" he is so sweet at times", said Maria as she pulled Chase closer to her.
" yeah, Adam can be sweet at times... Unless you're his victim in bionic toss", said Chase with a grin.

And before Chase could say another word, Maria kissed him on the lips.
" it's you and me," said Maria as she broke off her kiss.
" and you and I," said Chase as he kissed her on the cheek. They laughed once again and they headed off to find Bree and Leo. As they did this, their hands never separated each other.
