Chapter 12- The Valentine's Day Dance Disasture

Maria couldn't help herself from thinking of the last few words the guy had just said: 'As you wish' which was a quote from her favourite movie The Princess Bride. She didn't remember how he knew what those words meant, or whats the true meaning behind them, but she knew it was a way to say " I love you".

" come on, let's watch The Princess Bride"
" Okay, fine, but next time I'm picking the next movie," said Chase smiling and placing a quick kiss on her forehead.
" Thanks, now come on it's already on"
After the movie Maria soon started to fall asleep, her body wrapped and intertwined with Chase's arms, he's warmth kept her safe and sound.
" Chase" she mumbled, already sounding sleepy. her eyes half-closed.
" yeah"
" could you stay with me for a while"
" sure"
" can you promise me something?"
" of course"
"never forget me"
" As you wish"
Maria smiled, so did Chase and they fell asleep on the sofa without any disturbance.

Before school finished, she now knew who her friends were and who wasn't and after that talk with Linda to seemed like she knew her before and soon took her in as her friend. And with Linda's advice in her mind, she went to the benches in the hall way and waited. While she waited she took out her book: ' To Kill A Mocking Bird' and read it through. Linda had advised her to wait there for she had found her 'true soulmate' Lester Prior. Maria had no clue who this guy was but might as well get to know him then trying to figure who this 'Chase' guy was.

After minutes of waiting she felt as though she had been stood up, even though she doesn't remember even going out on dates. But soon enough a tall, slightly muscular young man rushed through the doors.
" sorry I'm late, I had to um..."
" oh, your Lester Prior, right, I'm Maria"
" nice to meet you, so are you going to the Valentines' Day dance with anyone yet... Well it isn't really Valentine's Day anymore but might as well"
Maria laughed and soon they got chatting and somehow for some strange reason they had quite a few things in common. And soon as school finished, Leo, Adam and Bree were by their lockers. 

" this is insane" said Leo who was watching Maria by the hall way benches in that afternoon.
" it's alright, we've got a plan... What's the plan?"
" Adam we don't have a plan" replied Bree who stuffed her school books into her bag.

The day went so quickly and as Chase arrived with others by the lockers, he spotted Maria and turned to face the other way, while the another begins to give her worried looks. But suddenly a muscular young guy came and sat next to Maria, but to their surprise, she did not budge. They smiled and he wrapped his arms around her, the way Chase used to do it. And soon enough they shared a kiss, a long and passionate one. The others barely had time to block Chase from the view for he already saw it. With this, he ran from the room taking he's stuff with him. Chase couldn't believe it, she only had lost the moment with him and now she had decided to move on so quickly. Chase could only think of how he wished he had Bree's super speed, to just run away from his lost and problems. And with them now all home, Chase went to bed and nothing want the same again.

The next morning was the day of the dance and with a day off from school and missions, the bionic trio and Leo went downstairs for breakfast. To their shocked faces, they spotted Maria looking different. Not just because of her life choices but also in her appearance. Her hair is no longer waist length and curled but now it's just above shoulder length and short. Her clothing too was different, instead of the usual checkered shirts, jeans and sneakers, it had changed into a full leather attire.
" what happened to you?" Asked Bree who was the most horrified, to find her friend and brother's girlfriend in the worst fashion attire in the world.
" nothing, it's just that I wanted something different that's all, besides Lester was so nice yesterday"
They all stared at her in either shock or fear; this wasn't the same Maria that told them that Chase was the muse to her soul.
" are you sure you even love him?" Chase scold, he's eyes narrow, he's arms cross and he was sitting on the usual place where he and Maria get cosy at sometimes.
