Chapter 9- That Fetal Accident

The whisper of her voice calling his name made Chase feel as though he was losing her. He held her tightly and whispered back:
" I'm right here. Don't you remember me?"
" of course, I remember you, it's just that...." She paused and shook her head. What what wrong with her? She asked herself, however before she could reply back, the others came with such noise that it soon drove off the reply in Maria's mind.
" hey, guys," said Leo as he strolled into the room looking pleased with himself. Maria and Chase looked at each other with an awkward smile. They then turned their heads and attentions back towards the others. The empty silence continued for miles around and not only was it very silent but the tension in the room increased by a fraction.

The cold, hard silence was only broken by a hoarse voice.
"hey, Leo what's going on?" Replied Maria.
" oh, nothing... Oh never mind I'll just tell guys... I've finally got a date to the dance"
Everyone else rolled their eyes as Leo went on and on about his date with Jenelle. Adam soon has enough and gave a sarcastic laugh and pushed Leo off his seat. At this everyone else laugh too.
" well that had definitely cured my boredom," said Bree as she gave another roar of laughter.

Leo pulled himself up from the ground and tried to push Adam of his seat but he wouldn't budge.
" ...and seriously, he gave you bionic strength," said Leo as he soon gave up from tiring to push him off. After a while, Maria got up and said
" um... I'm going to bed, I need some rest after what has happened"
And so she kissed Chase on the lips and smiled at the others before going upstairs to sleep. Once they heard a door closed, Chase quickly turned to his siblings and said
" I think she's losing her memory"
" what are you on about? She said she's fine. And besides if she was losing her memory then the first thing she will forget is how much she will have to spend time with Adam" said Leo.
" HEY!" Replied Adam as he ate how bowel of cereal. Leo just rolled his eyes.

Chase didn't want to believe Leo but still whether or not he is telling the truth, he was still sticking to his theory.
" but still, I'm just worried that she will soon forget who she is and what if..."
" oh Chase, stop it, she is fine; she said so herself. And besides, she looks fine to me" said Bree. But all Chase did was give her a nasty stare. And so, to avoid any more awkwardness between his siblings, he got up and went to the lab and got into his capsule. He closed his eyes and let his mind wonder freely in his sleep.

Maria had slept for about three hours with no disturbance. She was very happy to go and get something to eat but she was just so tired that she carried on sleeping. However, her sleep was then disturbed by an eery voice. She soon woke up with her eyes widely open.
" hello, is anyone there?... If it is you, Adam, it's not funny"
But it wasn't Adam. It was someone else. For Adam was downstairs with Bree and Leo. Maria shook the thought out of her mind and creep slowly out of the room. She looked round and soon noticed that Chase's voice didn't echo through the loud voices of the others. He must have gone to sleep.

Maria tiptoed outside and turned her head in all directions. She bit her bottom lip and stared out in the empty hallway.
" hello, is someone there?" She whispered. No one replied. Suddenly, she had used her super speed to open the back door of the house and soon she was outside. There was a sudden thirst for the unknown which in Maria's mind seemed to become so clear. She went from a run to a sprint in seconds and soon it was more than just what she was expecting. She had managed to end up in a weird looking place in just seconds. And there, in the middle of the warehouse was the hooded, masked figure.
" I knew you would follow"
Maria just stared at the figure as she caught her breath back.
" what- do- you- mean?" She panted.
The man laughed and soon he removed his mask and cloak hood. As he did so, Maria got the shock that the mystery figure was after for.

Meanwhile, down in the Lab, Chase was still sleeping but he was woken up by a loud bang against his capsule door. He groaned inside and soon as he opened his eyes, he gave a terrified scream, for Adam, Bree and Leo were all staring at him from outside. He then got out of his capsule and rubbed his eyes.

" What are you guys doing? can't you see I'm trying to sleep" said Chase looking very tired indeed. Bree rolled her eyes and had slapped him on the face then had gripped him by the shoulders.
" don't you understand? Maria's gone. she isn't in her room"
Chase was blanked faced and the words in his mouth didn't form at all.
" What do you mean she's gone? What happened?" said Chase panickly. He couldn't believe it. What could have happened to her?
" well what are we standing around here for, let's look for her." And before anyone could say anything else, Chase was gone. The others ran after him.

Meanwhile, back in the abandoned warehouse, Maria was having difficulty breathing. For the man behind the mask and hood was a very familiar face.
" I knew you'll remember me someday. And now here were are. Daughter and father reunited after all these years. I always wanted to see your face again. It's been such a long time. And when you went missing and your birthday, me and your mother didn't know what to do" the man said.
Maria didn't know what to say but it's all been to true of what he said. This man was her father and he did go missing on her fourteenth birthday.

Her eyes become the colour of blood and her smile had disappeared from her face. She stared at the others with a dark look upon her face. The Lab Rats back slowly away as she moved forward; heading towards their way.
" why? Why now... After all these years and now you finally decided to look for me" replied Maria as she activated one of her abilities: weather manipulation, where is controlled by her emotions.

The sky outside was beginning to grow darker and the wind was beginning to pick up speed.
" we were looking for you for years and we couldn't find you, but one thing did lead me to you and that was a guy named "Donald Davenport" took in a young, 14 year old girl. So I got my information and had tracked down this " Davenport" but it turned out my fears were realised. You had "bionics' " said the informs of her.

Maria just continued to stare. The weather outside seemed to have increased over time and her hands were made into fist and her knuckles have turned very white.
" why do you mean by that?"
He laughed and then he stepped closer to her.
" what I meant was that, you're my daughter and I'm not letting you become some " Bionic freak" and date some " bionic" guy. You'll obey my orders or I'll have to destroy the people you love"
And just before Maria could reply, the Lab Rats and Leo have entered the area and walked in, where Adam, Bree and Chase were wearing their mission suits.

Maria spun around and quickly said
" get out of here. It's dangerous... It's not..." But before she could do anything else, she had become silent.
" come on, what do you have to say?" Said Adam sounding frustrated.  Suddenly her eyes turned blood red and her body become stiff.
" I've spent most of my life finding a way to kill the lot of you... Especially you_" she pointed a finger a Chase.
"_ I always seemed to find a distraction in the missions that I was supposed to have completed but there was something blocking my way to active my goals and I'm staring at him right now"
And soon afterwards, she used her super speed to head straight for Chase but he managed to dodge in time. Maria landed hard on the cold, hard floor.  The fight carried on.

They couldn't believe what was happening and it seemed to them that it come out of nowhere. In no time at all, there was a huge BANG and a stream of blue light come through his fingertips. That stream of blue light was heading towards Maria, and so desperately to save the girl who made him feel that he belongs to this word, he had tried to reach her in time, however he felt someone tug him back by pulling on his wrist. Adam and Bree had pulled him back to safety.
" what are you doing? Do you want to get killed" said Bree still holding on to her brother's wrist.
" no, but we've got to do something at least" he said with fear in his voice. But all Bree did was shake her head. And so Chase surrendered with defeat and rested his head on his sisters shoulders and let a tear roll down.

It happened so fast, it was as if there was nothing that they could do to prevent it. They had just witnessed the man blast Maria across the room and then disappearing. She had blacked out. Afterwards, what had ever happened made no sense to Maria and that her head was still pounding from when she had hit her head. She managed to sit herself up with one hand and the other she rubbed her head with. She had no idea what will come out of her mouth next.
