Rascism

This is so annoying, I can't even begin to express how much anger I feel when somebody jokes about a certain race, or ignores them for no reason. This is so rude, and if you were in the shoes of some people I see get discriminated against, you would feel this way, too. It's just.... UGH!

You want proof? You got it. In my class, for whatever reason, it really annoys me when somebody refers to be as, "black". Okay, my skin may be a darker color than yours, but I think you are blowing it out of proportion with that statement. The same thing when somebody calls someone "white". They may be pale, but does that mean you therefore make a category and call them a color on the visible spectrum? I hope not.  For example, if a totally different species of extra-terrestrial homo sappiens came and inhabited our planet, would you call them "purple" because their skin looked purple? I don't think so.

Whenever somebody calls me "black", I clear my throat, and shout, "I prefer to be called African-American!" It surprises people, but most will call this my catch phrase. I have to say it so often, it isn't even funny anymore. Just tiring.

Another thing. If you are going to make a joke, PLEASE don't make it about somebody's skin color. It provides a sense of insecurity, and it's not as funny as you imagine. In fact, now that I think about it, no jokes these days are funny to society unless they are hurting somebody else. But, that's another rant for another day.

Moving on, just don't be rascist in general. I hate it when people call a girl "ugly" because she is asian and doesn't have the same facial structure as them. That is so rascist, and honestly, somebody needs to slap some sense into their mentally-damaged skulls. If you don't like a certain race for no reason at all, you just don't belong in society. Point Blank.

I understand that you may be a certain race, but does that mean you hate everyone else? No! Before anyone  in the comments section says, "You're rascist, your only talking about white people." I'm talking about EVERYONE. All races have judged others, so don't give me that "You are only talking about >random nationality<" Crap. We all are humans, and we all have our faults; judging each other is one of them.

So, let's get over what we look like on the outside, and look to the inside for answers. Don't hate a person because they don't look like you; that's annoying and hurtful and I can nearly garuntee you will have no friends. Remember the phrase, "Don't judge a book by its cover?" Well, although many have forgotten it, the phrase DOES still exist. USE IT.

Geeze.
